Yeah man was a bit crazy, it was a few years ago though back when garage was in. What didn’t help matters is both of em were boshed up on pingers at the time.

That would seriously fuck with my brain if it happened to me.

remind me never to go to a 16+ club event EVER again unless it is organised by a respectable sound system. 😐

when I used to listen on the scanner these sorts of events were worse for violent incidents than the adults ones…

TBH I don’t recall that level of violence at similar events 20 years ago but I’ve noticed young people definitely seem a lot angrier than my own youth.

why don’t the cops, instead of bothering relatively harmless legal rave events, make a stand and close down these dangerous events? They’ve got enough units to do this. The same should go for adults venues in Ipswich and Stowmarket – as much of a shame as it was to lose a large venue like Zest/Kartouche/Hollywoods it did actuallly draw a line in the sand to show that violence at social events is unacceptable.

Someone got bottled/stabbed in Jokers Stowmarket this weekend as well…

seemed to be a lot of ‘wannabe’ gangsters hanging round too, but they still had knives wannabe or not.. i know for a fact as a couple were waving them and a couple of them dropped them as they were walking along! there was a lot of police, bout 6 cars, 2 or 3 vans.

from the way the police were acting at this event i think they do understand to a certain extent the legal ones are basically harmless. the caribbean club was round the corner and ive never had a problem at sound system events there, its always a lovey vibe (rugs or not :weee:). police seem at least a bit more lax at legals, they were very harsh at this one. wouldnt flex a muscle.

As strange as it may seem for me to say this I think in this case the cops weren’t harsh enough. They should have put a full closure on this under the 2005 Licensing Act (protecting children from harm) and sent a press release to the Evening Star and EADT explaining what had happened, and thus forcing the promoters to debate on a public platform the events leading up to these incidents.

I like nightlife and music but also have to pay in my Council Tax and other taxes to clear up if things go pear-shaped…
