Maybe I’m missing something, but how exactly is she an anti-popstar?

Sorry, I didn’t get up long agao and I’m grumpy. 🙂

What I mean is, she is just as pop-star as the rest of them. Fair do’s she conveys a better message to younger girls than the Brittneys and Christinas but she is no less pop-star than them.

true, she is just capitalising on the image of the angst-ridden young female who doesn’t “fit in” with US teen subcultures (sort of a bit like a live-action version of Daria) – just another market for the branded goods TBH

she had an interveiw in the guardian a while back and the interveiwer really wanted pink to be all intelectual and right on… while she isn’t stupid, she certainly doesn’t have much to back up any socio-political standpoint. she is just an attention seeking, albeit talented, popstar. still, i like the tune and especially the vid. i found it ironic that she was parodying girls who flash their bits, and in the role where she plays herself she’s in a poloneck sweater, she still gets her baps out for the cash herself. still, these things should be enjoyed for what they are. ephemeral bullshit that takes two minutes to watch and ten to think about. passes the time tho, eh?

We should line them all up…
