This is the first proper dubstep mix I have done, the culmination of a period of frantic record-buying over the last six months. After twelve years of playing techno, jungle and various other styles of pop-pupilled rave lunacy, I have recently turned my attentions to dubstep (which I have been listening to for a while without really mixing). I thought that I had escaped the trap of buying new vinyl, but I’ve recently been sucked back in by dubstep. It’s a good addiction, though … there are a lot worse hobbies to have!
This is obviously all mental wobble bassline lunacy, but I have tried to structure it in a way that it varies over the course of the mix. I have also written a long essay about the process of mixing that may (or may not!) be of interest. There’s a bit of distortion on some of the tracks, which I think is caused by a slightly fucked needle, but I don’t think it should be too overwhelming.
Enjoy!

can u recommend any decent breaks tunes
July 2, 2009 at 11:15 am #1201563to be honest I stopped listening to breaks a couple years back, so I’m not too sure about what’s going on at the moment! I’d suggest going to the mixes forum at NuSkoolBreaks.co.uk and having a listen to some of the mixes and seeing what you like from the tracklists if you are after new stuff.
having said that, I have done a few breaks mixes (featuring older tunes, though) called Drop the Hammer, which might be helpful to you.
Drop The Hammer 2 (bit of everything)
Drop The Hammer 3 (not too hard)
Drop The Hammer 4 (pretty banging)July 2, 2009 at 12:08 pm #1201555i’m new to breaks and am after anything u recommend
July 2, 2009 at 1:15 pm #1201564artists I’d recommend:
Plump DJs
Aquasky vs Masterblaster
Deekline & Wizard
Soul of Man
Freq Nasty
