they do this at my work but not the recording bit

I think its just about stating how you deal with difficult customer service situations etc but also a bit like writing one of them call centre scripts..

how you would prepare yourself for work in a customer service area or environment; include dress sense and fulfilment of health and safety.

I’m doing an NVQ, and i really fucking struggle with the work. I’m months behind, and I know I can do the work i’m just a massive procrastinator. I just do it in the library or a classroom and don’t let myself leave until it’s done. (usually the day before the deadline)

                      Eeeeek.

Exactly the same. What NVQ are you doing?

I’m doing a National Diploma in Music Tech, wish I’d done First Diploma though…

I’m doing a national diploma in Hospitality Management, it’s such a massive waste of time but I failed my AS levels and couldn’t be bothered to retake them. It’s an alright course but entirely assignment based. D:

My friends are doing music tech, apparently it’s pretty fun. What’s the difference between a first and a national diploma?

Yeah, we’re entirely assignment based too, which is good ‘cos I fucking hated exams. I didn’t even attempt AS levels…

A first diploma is equivalent to 4 GCSE grades A-C… and it’s not recognised as UCAS tarriff points, whereas ND’s are 3 A2 levels I think? If I get three distinctions that is. Not looking likely, as it’s proper hard stuff. Doing something at the moment about working out the absorption co-efficiencie of everything in a room and based on that, the room size and the speed of sound we work out the exact milisecond of a wave bounce… just goes all over my head.

First Dip is simpler stuff, just not really worth anything that’s the problem.

Ahh right. Yeah I got plenty of gcse’s I just failed at exams so that’s why i’m doing the national. Doesn’t sound like there’s much point doing the first, cos surely you’ll have to go on to do the national one anyway if you want to go to uni?

And :/ fucking hell. i thought i had to learn hard stuff! even reading that made it go straight over my head.

                                      Mental.

True, the first dips I think are more for personal benefits rather than Uni aspirations… for people who wanna try their luck with the more stereotypical way of getting into the music business probably.

I’m not going to University and don’t want to do anything specifically to do with music, but it could come in handy with what I do want to do – and 3 A-levels or equivalent is useful to have…
