at the risk of sounding a bit un-PC, given cultural norms in the area they commited the crime and American appetites (and that it is superbowl weekend) I don’t think it would be that difficult to shift a large quantity of stolen food. Hell, reading about it makes me feel hungry and I’m not even American!
