Maybe we need a meet up to share ideas and make some tunes between us. I wanna meet with DF to have a brainstormer soon anyway. Maybe we could sort something at some point.

Nah man.. I sorted some synths out the other day but that’s been it, been busy with college and some real life shizz man, sucks.

February 15, 2013 at 10:55 pm #1255099Nice little base of a tune you got going there man. There’s two ways of soughting out the filter that gets loud, you can either automate the volume (if the change is a lot on the db meter), or you could add some compression after the filter to bring down the louder bits a little. Don’t go too overboard with it though as it’ll make it sound too flat otherwide. Try adding some slight distortion. Try it with a bit of light reverb at about 10-20% wet after the compression as well, as normaly this gives an airy, wider sound (it will vary massivly depending on how prenounced the verb is, but for a loud reverb that’s the area that normaly sounds good for a slight boost to the sound).

It’s an acid techno tune, first I’ve ever even attemped and a work in progress, it’s only the intro done but lemme know what you think! (And be honest, I’d rather constructive criticism that actually helps..)

February 23, 2013 at 8:21 am #1255034Yeah cool, you are on the right track. You hav the arrangement right which is something you want to get right first of all. I had no idea you posted this.
First off, with that bass sample you have coming in on the 1st (same as kick) you want to either open the sustain on it do the not lasts longer vos at the moment the single hit just isn’t filling up the 4/4 block. Also you want to do some side chain compression. This is a little advanced but it will really help make you snipped sound more pumping and good. To do that on FL you will need toput both the kick and the bass up to the mixer on separate tracks. Just making a tutorial now mate.

February 23, 2013 at 8:51 am #1255036Oh and what did you use for that bass sound? I can’t remember what vst’s I gave you. I know you got some ABL2 in there but did I give you v station? I really want to give you masive but you would be so lost with it. I had to have online lessons at first with it just to get to grips with the basics and i still only know about 3% of the VST. you will probably be better with novation vstation or maybe even bass station?
Can you send me the preset file for that bass you made. I can have a look and give you some advice on it. But you deffo want to stretch the note so it covers the 3rd and 4th, and give it some side chain compression. then you will have a real techno feel to it.

February 23, 2013 at 12:56 pm #1255158I just used ABL2 mate for both the bass and the acidy bit in the background. You did send me V-station but I was munted at the time and remember downloading it but can’t remember what else I did.
