Funky House at a party?

I wanted to get other peoples opinions on whether funky house goes down well at free parties, I have only just started going to them myself so I don’t know all the kinds of music that is played appart from the obvious (DnB, Jungle, Hard Tek, Hard Trance etc)

Too minimalist for my taste but I know of lots of people who like this type of thing. For me this is chill out stuff at the end of the night (morning) when you are thinking it might be time to head for home.

I’ve heard similer styles on the odd occasion .. but it really depedns on the croud tbh.

In the old days acid house was king, and freetekno style like deep house in a fast firm bass was often used…maybe its a time for revival? Crystal Distortion on their Digital Sonic Tourism from -95 (you find it here on PV for download under deep house, but I spelt Distortion > Distorsion like it was printed on the original tape I got) and they have uploaded a mix on soundcloud that goes quite funky(9 months old), even their normal style is far from it. Its all about having fun and not be govern by stylies; Give people what they need, not what they want and keep it real!

So my conclusion freeparties should not have boundaries of style but be like it sez FREE.

maybe day time at a 3 dayer or something or a multi rig where all the other styles are already catered for, I can’t see it going down that well otherwise with the majority of free party people
