Anyone got any nice ideas for food that can be cooked on 2 gas stoves in fields? Something nice and yummy, not pot noodle 😉

Went camping a bit last year and found working out what food to cook very hard other than the old BBQ. Any suggestions?

You can cook pretty much anything you want, just take a cool box and some ice packs and fresh meat will be pretty much ok for a weekend. Just try to leave it in the shade.

For breckie I usually have fried eggs on potaote farl

and I pre cook a spag bol or chilli put in a tupperware thing, (veggie) bring rice – cook that up and also do bring soured cream and grated cheese in a cool box I got off ebay –

i use frozen bottles of water and those freezer pack things and keeps stuff really cold for up to 3 days atleast (esp cold cider – as long as its been in the fridge first) andother bits and pieces

                            (1 and 3 of food :laugh_at:)

I need to get some kind of massive grill pan that will let me put on a packet of bacon, 8 eggs and lots of toast…perhaps a cafe would be easyer

go to a Chinese shop or other such ethnic place. They tend to sell giant woks, pans and the like.

for festival food if i actually felt like cooking and eating something. crepes are always a good one. can make the batter before hand and then all youve got to do is chuck some mushrooms, garlic, spinach and cheese in there and maybe some chorizo and you’ve got a proper tasty meal. and easy to eat if your not actually feeling that hungry, but have to eat something, not much chewing involved at all!
