Anything by Bill Byson, especially A Short History of nearly everything.

I could literally feel my brain getting bigger with every page i read.

Which balanced bashing the shit out of it at the weekend

No Logo – Naomi Klein (she looks quite hot) No Logo is the first book to put the new resistance into pop-historical and clear economic perspective. Naomi Klein tells a story of rebellion and self-determination in the face of our new branded world.

Shantaram – Gregory David Roberts Lindsay arrives in Mumbai after escaping from an Australian prison where he was serving a 19-year sentence for armed robberies that had fed his drug habit. In Mumbai, he meets Prabhakar who takes him to his native village where the locals name him Shantaram and teach him Marathi. Lindsay relaunches his criminal career as Shantaram in the city’s notorious underworld.

The Dice Man is a great read, it’s by Luke Rhinehart.

Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell is superb.

Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert M Persig is a true classic.

The Tao of Physics by Fritjov Capra is a little dated now but his ideas and insights are amazing.

Anything by Ben Elton is usually entertaining.

Someone else mentioned Bill Bryson. All his stuff is good.

Dean Koontz writes wierd but enthralling stories.

And let’s not forget the amazing Dr. Seuss.
