Hey mate, I notice on xbox live you are playing Final Fantasy XIII.
Is it good? I used to love the FF series and am considering buying it.
Is it different from the other games and would you recommend it?

Ahaha I used to know a guy like that. FF7 was the messiah of FF games apparently. Was so good it even made him cry.
One of my all time favourites of the series was FF9. Used to love that game!
Might just get the new one for old times sake. 😉
March 14, 2010 at 9:55 pm #1224240ff 7 and 8 ftw. 7 was the best and 8 people just didn’t understand or appreciate it even though some aspects were far far superior to 7. people just couldn’t accept the change in graphics etc.
March 15, 2010 at 2:16 pm #1224235I played and loved 7 first, then 8 and i haven’t touched them since that.
Decided to go for something different and picked it up. I was dissapointed at first but gave it a chance and it seems to be getting better and a bit more involved.
Based on 4 hours of play time I’d give it 6/10 so far. It looks amazing but you don’t actually feel like you are playing a game. More like watching a story as it’s been predominantly made up of cutscenes so far and you don’t really feel in control of the fighting.
March 15, 2010 at 2:32 pm #12242417 – teh best computer game ever
8 – awesome
9 – didnt get into
10 – storyline sucked balls but the end game was really fun
12 – absolute shite13 – I’ve been playing this for a couple of weeks now (it leaked onto the internet early)
It’s incredibly linear, basically a long straight road with cut scenes and fights, not so much as a fork in the road.
But I dont like massively open ended RPG games with a billion choices, vast landscapes to get totally lost in, and many ways to fuck up the ending by making the wrong choices, so I’m really enjoying it. I hate games where it’s not obvious what to do, and so far it’s ALWAYS obvious what to do (ie walk along road towards map marker and whack anything you bump into)
It’s visually stunning and the battle system is different enough from the previous games to keep me interested
But if you are a hardc0re RPG fan who wants total control over everything they do and the option to develop a good/evil character and choose their own quests, you wont like this gameMarch 15, 2010 at 2:43 pm #1224236@Iacchus 376456 wrote:

Oh, I was hoping that might change after a while.
I’d say that FF and anime fans will enjoy it but I wouldn’t recommend it otherwise. It’s nice to just sit back and appreciate but I feel the game is playing itself. I don’t really have any love for the characters either. Not like FF7.
Luckily I used to be in to anime and I quite like the quirky Jap storytelling so I’ll stick with it to the end and allow myself to be impressed by the visuals. Will only play it once though, that’s for sure.
March 15, 2010 at 3:01 pm #1224242It will change eventually, with all FF games you have to grind through the storyline, and just before the final boss you get free roaming of the map, and thats when the real fun starts, when you can start maxing out your character and taking on the uber bosses. FF13 will have that at the end too (it had bloody better).. but you gotta grind through the story first.
nothing will beat FF7, ever, it was the perfect storyline and battle system. Nothing will ever come close ever. It was truly epic, I’ve completed it about 5 times. I have a picture of Aeris on my wall.. and guess what we’re naming our first daughter
March 15, 2010 at 5:49 pm #1224239I bought it today, Thought why not eh!
