I think you’re getting dub plates and dub reggae mixed up, a dub plate is a piece of crappy acetate vinyl that only last like 50 plays that were pressed as tests or pre-releases just to quickly hand out to DJ’s before the proper finished master was done to more hi-quality vinyl as a kind of quality control measure. The dub in dubstep is the dub reggae element, what shriekface doesn’t have in his music. 😉

Ahh I asumed it was a term for the ‘bub bub bub’ you get in roots music.
