a curious and interesting development….

I have been taking modafinil on and off from 2008-02-09 as stated in the thread. Recently there have been supply problems (I think the modafinil dude got grief from the US feds) so I have been rationing my use (although I did find a random strip of 10 tablets I had put away in my pannier bags raaa)

Now my usage has gone down to a couple of tablets a week – but.. I have found some effects are permanent..

• my mind has actually become a bit sharper and more focused (and bear in mind I have undiagnosed ADHD)
• I can even drink large amounts of alcohol and still stay mentally alert.
• I have re-learned many of my computer programming skills from 20 years ago what had gone rusty… OK I can’t quite recode a entire linux kernel but I had to put in a few hacks to a C program to customise it for the British telephone network and found this fairly effortless…

I haven’t even touched any modafinil this weekend, yet the enhancements are still there – it is like it has actually enhanced both my body and brain (I also have cycled to Rob’s house on a number of occasions, 25 miles each way – and would have done so this weekend had it not been for the apalling weather)..

It hasn’t however spurred any major desires for music/creativity like MDMA does (although I have recovered a lot of my interest in music since this time last year).
