I don’t respect ‘the army’ as a whole but can’t have anything but respect for an individual who joins the army being prepared to devote their life to protecting others, however misguided they might be.. Not for anyone who just wants to go shoot guns in a foreign country though, but I think most have good intentions at first. I did want to be in the army as a kid, but quickly went off the idea as I got older and began to understand the politics and psychology involved
