there is always that danger with “freedom of expression without regulation”… people don’t know when to stop (for instance you’ve got US soldiers trading pics/videos of the IRaqi civillians they have shot up for online porn) – its a shame as the backlash is only going to be greater censorship and restriction on freedom; and the Internet is easier than ever before to censor and monitor (the Chinese cracked the technology problems with regard to censorship, the Western companies turned it into a corporate run network where only about 5 companies handle the data traffic)

Also a lot of the problems with todays media is there is a lot of negativity within the industry.

When peoples jobs were more secure and working in the media was a bit more fun the programmes were also a bit more positive – OK they may have been anarchic but they had a sense of enjoyment and achievment about them, but now everyone is competing with each other for the next bit of work and the conflict carries through to the kind of programmes that get made today

OK I don’t think news should ever be censored and if there is war and crime about it should be reported on- but has anyone noticed that every TV show today, even the entertainment shows seems to be about competing for something?

(I rarely watch TV any more)
