Found out (thanks to radioforum.nl) what them mixers are in 538, Slam and Veronica are, they are German and made by DHD (and certainly loads of €€€€€)….

but even the cheapest D&R studio mixer is €2200. Armin Van Buuren uses a 8 fader D&R Lyra for “A State of Trance roadshow” (where he also presents it in English as well as mixing), having looked at it I can understand why – its just right for that sort of show (where he’s not going to have to play in news broadcasts, weather etc).
