Their system obviously dosen’t have the flexiblity to deal with your circumstances. I know how frustrating this can be from times past.
I don’t thing I would be going on the work experience thing though. I would stick at your course and get a job to pay the bills. (I’m sort of assuming that there are jobs, cos surely if there are jobs in Boro there are jobs everywhere 🙂 If your job prospects do improve it should be fairly short term.
I think a lot of people fund their training or further/higher education by basically working through it. Thats what I had to do, and I remember that there was a woman on my course who also worked, and she had four kids, one of whom was autistic. Big respect.
Don’t let the shortcommings of the system get you down and stop you doing what you plan. D.
