am on the ‘new deal’ at the moment i am a supply teaching assistant so have had temporary jobs in schools round sheffield, unfortunately i have been unable to find permanent full time work so the jobcentre have forced me to do work experinece (av yet to find out what it is yet) for 13 weeks, 30 hrs a week.
i have enrolled on a course starting in september for gaining a diploma in Teaching Assistant level 3, but the advisors at jobcentre say i cant do this course cos i have to do the work experience !! complete madness! I won’t get a qualification from what they want me to do.
av spoke to citizens advice bureau and other jobcentre advisors and even the ombudsman but no one can help! they just tell me its the law!
trying desperately to get full time work (in anything now) so that i dont have to do this work experience thing. need something before monday or i wont have the chance to look for work while working on ‘new deal’….
