Chinese places have occasionally been caught for cooking dogs but that is only because they get their old relatives visit and they demand their special dishes from back home. Dog is tough and greasy, hassle to cook (a Chinese “auntie” of mine from Malaysia confirmed this), people get suspicious when pets go missing, and it would be near impossible to pass this off to even the most inebriated Westerner.

I did read somewhere (some animal rights place?) that a British breeder was caught selling loads of medium size dogs (apparently the ones what weren’t good enough for the breed) to Hong Kong and similar places for eating! Even a lot of the Chinese disagree with this, and I heard recently that middle aged women (all about 5 foot tall) smashed up the biggest dog meat restaurant in Shanghai and the cops didn’t even stop them!

What they do definitely put into the big kebab cones and other is up to 20% pork fat, which creates a lot of contention amongst the Muslim community for obvious reasons as some shops try and pass the kebabs off as halal.

There was a huge debate on a cricket forum about this, and one chap bemoaning the fact that “he had put on 10 kilos due to eating Kebabs” :laugh_at:
