the “rules” for dartmoor are that you can camp anywhere that is access land as long as it is not in site of a road (why would you want to be?) and that you are not in sight of another tent (groups can find litle hollows to hide in, or join tents with canvas – who it to say where one structure ends and the other begins!) They are not up for fires (with fairly good reason – bracken, heather, gorse and even the peat you sit on are flamable in the right conditions, and almost imposssible to fight, while ground nesting birds and archaeology and reptiles and insects and stuff are everywhere)

So, if anyone fancies being law abiding and hasle free its a good (or god as my computer insists) place to camp.

Oh, and I think it might be a one night only rule.
