this is more a Scottish/Northern thing – down here it was jungle what was the “moody” music..

in my town people are trying to “do something” about the problems (especially since December 2006) but unfortunately so many people (young and old) actively resist “liberal do-gooder” type stuff but they will eventually behave when they see three full Police cars driving through the estates like they mean business – something I saw today on the bike ride to work, and its only Tuesday!

bear in mind East Anglia’s working class population have a history of stubborness and resistance to authority (including even people with progressive “PC middle class do gooder” views) as well as a strong “DIY justice” culture so the authorities these days go around prepared to deal with it.
