the internet is a dangerous ‘place’ though. rather easy to lie and deceive. i don’t. but do i? am i now? etc etc……. i’m a fan in the long term though. these things evolve.

bill gates – yeah good guy overall. i’m a windows man all the way (rather than mac – we shouldn’t get into that one here though 😉 )

still not convinced on safaris. saw article in guardian other day about a charity / organisation which is having to teach predators how to hunt and give them their aggression back because life in safari parks is too easy for them. make of it all what you will…

Yer sure, but people lie in the physical world as well, i suppose its just a reflection of the “real” world

dude i meant safari, like in the masai maira, Kenya

Since when have we ever learned anything? we still fight and kill. and persist in research into things like cloning and stem cell research (which i am still trying to figure out my moral standing on atm).

zoos are bad. but safaris are generally really bad for the animals too. jeeps disrupt the environment too much.:hopeless:

erm well……….you are on the internet, thats something open, relativly free. Is that a good example of us learning somthing?

zoo’s were i believe started by the victorians who, love to show off. example=kew gardens. Is that a zoo for plants?

I dont like zoos, animals should be in there natural habitat, full stop.

Safaris, ive been luckly enough to have been on one, and the animals dont take any notice they are used too them, a cheeta even sat on the jeep so she could look for pray. The real issue is conservation, tourists think about conservation, but african’s are just intreasted in surviving, they do this though eco-tourisim and then learn too protect there parks etc as an income. So on the whole safari’s i think are a good thing.

Cloning and stem-cell research, well im not sure about that either. what i do know is that in the last 50 years many dieases have been wiped out or cured, in the developed world. So i think thats a postive thing.

Also on that note i have to say that Bill Gates is actually doing something good, using his money too find a cure for maleria one of the biggest killers in africa. So big up billy boy!! You know hes got more money than some countrys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

          Ps i cant spell

                      ok thats some intreasting views

the reason i asked the question is cos i was at a zoo the other day. (bad i know) and there was this beatiful sumarian tiger, just pacing up and down.
now these creatures are born in the wild and are just exploited and tormented in the zoo. it was horrilble!

but what about insects and reptails? those animals who just want to eat and sleep. (Now that does sound fermilier!) They get an easy life, is it okay to keep them?

with regards to extintion, we are the most dominate species on the planet as well as rats and moskitos. But nobody is bothered about the rats!!

rat catchers kill them indiscriminatly but no one gives a shit

I say Save the RATS !!!!!!!!!!!
