  • Hi,

Sound engineering is a popular course I would recommend that you search for the right sound engineering course here and then you can read the course entry requirements. I would make sure that you can fulfil all (or as many of the requirements as possible) to stand the best chance of gaining entry.

    Please help.
    Thanks!

  • Hi,

I read Sound on Sound too. I really enjoy the Mix Rescue column and the Secrets of the Mix Engineers articles. I do think it gets repetitive though – the whole “how to treat your bedroom” type thing. Useful advice I agree, and I’m sure it shifts magazines, but it gets old fast… I just don’t feel there is any kind of amazing advice…[Read more]

  • Hi,

Designed to mount onto the rim of the drum using the included mounting hardware, the DM20 DrumMic features a flexible gooseneck that allows precise positioning of the right-angled mic head. Earthworks say that the gooseneck is stiff enough to stay put even when the drum is hit hard, while the stainless steel housing will protect the…[Read more]

  • Hi,

I’ve recently reviewed the MixPre3 and 6 models and I was really REALLY impressed with them. I think the review is scheduled for the coming issue…I’ve always been a fan of Sound Devices gear which is almost ubiquitous in professional location TV sound work these days. The Mix Pre 3 and 6 have all the compactness of the Zoom recorders,…[Read more]

  • Hi,

What experience have AKers had with the Audio Engine B1. I will be working through the hours of my favorite Public Radio shows, so I will be needing high quality blue tooth for listening on demand. I will need high quality music sound. I have one and it’s much better than a cheapo Logitech. I also like the fact that it has an optical out…[Read more]

  • Hi,

I’ve been a user of Motu Travelers + PowerBook G4 since 2005, until my PowerBook G4 crashed in 2011. That kept me away from music production for a while. Now in 2017, I got a more confortable PC (QuadCore/16Gb RAM) with windows 10. I used to do 16/24 multitrack recordings, but my needs have shifted to monitoring mainly. I need to plug my…[Read more]

  • Hi,

I found some interesting equipment authorizations on the FCC web site. They were granted in the last two weeks, and the information in the filings matches wideband versions of the SM transmitter, with references to both single (SMWB) and dual battery (SMDWB) packages. I wanted the 250mw capability, and hope I did not miss out on getting…[Read more]

  • Hi,

The Live Sound International (LSI) Loudspeaker Demo — a.k.a., “The Ultimate Audio Experience” — is coming to the Worship Facilities Expo (WFX) in Dallas next week (October 10-12), presenting the unique opportunity to listen to, evaluate, and compare 26 top professional loudspeaker systems in a controlled listening environment. The event,…[Read more]

  • Hi,

I do video recording for my Church and up until this point we have only had 1 camera, which has taken it audio feed from a mixer via XLR cables. We just got another camera, which i would like to use as a second camera at a different location within the congregation which puts it out of reach of the mixer. So i need to know if the…[Read more]

  • Hi,

I guess the -tn or tn- in the name is just for web organisation. usually I’d expect it to mean something like thumbnail, but since it appears mainly on sites based on tag searches it’s probably means something like “tag-name” and the fact why it appears sometimes in beginning or end is likely just inconstant naming schemes. the indication…[Read more]

  • Hi,

I tried the same AU-7900 on my JBL 120Ti’s. The system sounds more detailed, more accurate, and cymbals are outright beautiful. I would arguably say, driven by the same amplifier, JBL 120Ti’s sound better than JBL 4311’s. Yet the 120Ti’s do not sound as lively as the 4311’s. Now I mostly listen to my secondary system in the garage; a pair…[Read more]

  • Hi,

Is anyone experiencing a popping noise when using a Shure QLX-D with a RSB-2 ref mute switch? Shure has a bulletin that addresses this. I forwarded the bulletin to our AV vendor, but they tell me that the solution doesn’t apply to condenser mics, like the Special Projects 746 that we’re using. I can’t recall the last time I saw a lavalier…[Read more]

  • Hi,

Transducer specialists Audio-Technica and interface/console experts Audient have teamed up to deliver the AT2035-Studio ‘Essential Studio Kit — a microphone/ interface/headphone bundle designed for budding producers and musicians working in home studios or on the move. In the kit from Audio-Technica there’s the perennially popular AT203…[Read more]

  • Hi,
I am studying Sound Engineering at university and we have to do a case study. My case study will be about the lack of women in the music production industry and therefore I am trying to collect some data from people either working or studying within this field whether they are male or female. Are you a touring band or a production person?…[Read more]

  • Hi,
I’m currently doing scientific research on mobile devices which can tangibly mimic a mixing console interface. However, I’m not an audio engineer and thus I don’t really know the work practices and needs you all face when working on a venue. I’m looking for audio engineers to fill a small survey to help better understand some of the…[Read more]

  • Seemingly randomly when I play, my voice chat will stop working. It will say I am in the chat for me, but that there are 0 people in the chat, and my team says I’m not in it. It happens in the middle of gameplay, if someone is talking they just cut out but it still shows their mic in the top left corner and their name stays there until I restart.…[Read more]

  • Over the past few weeks I’ve noticed that for seemingly no reason at all, I’ve been removed from voice chat due to various errors (1001, 20900, etc.). Coming to these forums, I’ve noticed that I’m not the only one with this issue, and it seems to happen during every session of play.

Yes, I have made a post similar to this within the last few…[Read more]
