You can't run a server off a home internet connection because you need better quality bandwidth. And you're either leasing a server or paying the company to host one...

Has PV ever organised a group meet ? we did that on DSI, all the regulars met up and partied all night long ! - It was a great night !! it was nice to put faces to names and chat about shit...

a lot of members have met other member IRL, but Partyvibe has members from all over the world, so it would be a bit tricky to organise a full-on meet up

Squatjuice is too full of wido's -> they say if you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen. Well here I am.

PV is friendlier IMO, and I just don't think my banter is compatible with SJ. Sometimes I'll lurk there for a while and think about posting --- then I'll see some newbie get ridiculed for trying to start a conversation...and I'll be like, aye, maybe not.

Much as I'm enjoying PV, it still doesn't beat the inbred Edinburgh chat some of us get on the Dogma forum though

"PV is friendlier" is an understatement! SJ can be great to talk random shit, and it's full of pointless wankers, but that's whats funny about it... you can't take it seriously!

PV is more...slow-paced, some say boring but i like PV, you get some bloody good convos goin on 'ere. About actual worthwhile things, not "ur mum iz fit innit" like on SJ

TBH both sites have had to calm down a lot about what party info is posted due to the feds. We have to be careful on PV, as this site has been around nearly 10 years so the cops have always monitored the public forums since the start.

there's quite a few threads about parties here, but we do discourage bitching and politics between crews as it leads to a lot of bait being posted. if this happens, often one crew gets slagged off - their members defend themselves, or they brag about what rigs have what kit - and its way easy to find out who is who just by checking other posts from users.

I personally knew about a lot of the rig politics in East Anglia for years and I only moved here in 2006 - it actually made me wary about getting involved a bit until I met a load of good people from my new town who run a crew which seems to rise above the politics (interesting how your county going on lockdown forces people to have a bit of real solidarity..)

Everyone gets paranoid over feds posting "newbie" posts, when in fact all cops have to do is just lurk on a message board and look at a few threads where people argue about a recent party - its also remarkable how much other personal info people give away in their profiles, particularly when they lead to myspaces.

OK for a normal raver there isn't much of a problem but for a rig owner thats bait IMO..

people in my old area (thames Valley/SE England) have even got in Court and ASBOs because of loose talk on forums.

remember as fun as it all is, free party crews are committing an activity which takes over hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of land without permission, there is a lot of drugs sold and consumed at raves, and the cops aren't just going to ignore all of this crime...

yeye GL u gotta point, although maybe its just cos theres more fellow norfolkonians on sj, which means more replys on a thread lookin bac on a party in my area, whereas on that thread u started bout the multirigga last weekend hardly anyone replyd innit. but then again there are def a variety of ppl from a variety of places and countries on here

SJ has different layouts available from the profile options screen.

That's theme changes where u can change the colour etc.. PV has the same options down the bottom left of the page.. there's a drop down bar that u can change them or again you can do it in your profile

Sorry I didn't make myself completely clear when I said layout! I mean the way the page is set up not the colour scheme etc. Some sites are easier to get around like PV, and some just seem messy and if pisses me off, I will just leave!!!
