Were currently redesigning the Aztek sound system website and are adding lots of new sections, losing those annoying ad's etc.

Does anyone have any suggestions for the new site?

Any ideas and comments much appreciated.

Have live webcasts of your parties and show the world you know how to rock :weee:

We talked about this a while ago, would be really good to do this but i think it might be a little difficult to set up. we are going to record all the music played at our events and upload the mp3's for people to download. We will also be selling CD's of the mixes at future parties and via the website. and we may be able to film some of the party and upload some videos but i doubt we will be able to have a live stream.

multimedia is always good stuff - incidentally (although many ravers may not think this is the case) edited rave videos are far safer from a security POV than stills photos!

This is because they could potentially contain so many bits of different raves and video effects that it would be difficult to positively identify that the footage is of one place at a particular time - and they are lower resolution than stills photos - but you need to edit them well.

sometimes people just don't realise how sharp modern digital cameras can be; you can zoom in to photos and find all sorts of interesting details such as numberplates, people racking up , the same people posing by rigs...

its a hard balance to strike between paranoia and handing cops evidence of illegal activity, but its a choice which needs to be made.

I'd suggest learning to use photoshop and adobe premiere (or whatever photo/video software you prefer) instead of uploading raw footage or the unedited contents of camera chips.

Every so often look at your site as if you were someone who wanted parties stopped and were looking for evidence against them.....

at the moment our photo gallery is just links to photo albums people have put on squatjuice of our parties. none are edited by any of our crew. Not the way we want things to be. One of our plans for the new site is our own photo gallery which we are in the process of creating where we will choose what photo's are to be used and will be editing out any numberplates, references to people rackin up etc! same goes for video clips. It, unfortunately, is a long painful process which we are slowly working through.

its worth doing - not only for security but you end up with far better material because of the selection process.

Some of my rave photos from events in my area may go up at a future date once the PEL court cases are over...

But even after security clearance I'd only use a few of them - dunno if you've ever tried taking photos or video footage at a rave but you get a load of out of "NG" (no good) material - I tend to be fairly ruthless about photos; I can take about 50-70 and only use about 20 in the end, and am still going through the video footage from the last few years....

its not enough on its own to nick some1 - but if they are being watched for other reasons its "soft intelligence"; another piece in the intelligence jigsaw.

one way round this is to crop photos well and limit the resolution to 1024x768 or 800x600
