I have actually lived up north in Lancaster (having previously lived in London and loved it). As you walk down the street, you tend to see everyone is miserable and hardly an smiling faces, I haven't seen any northern soul. I didn't really mean any offence to any northerns, but found at the same time found them really quite depressing. I am staying in Wales temp atm, but will soon be moving back to London.

Thats strange, as a northerner (a scot) ive found it to be exactly the opposite as youve wrote dude.. Northern England has got some of the nicest, friendliest, happiest people in Uk.:group_hug I have a great time whenever im there. the whole time i lived right down south, (ive lived/worked all over the uk) i never once walked along to the shop in the morning to be greeted with a good morning by a stranger. Whenever i done it they thought i was some kind of weirdo with no friends or something and struggled to grumble a gd'mornin back:you_crazy. Here, its standard issue things like that what make us put up with the shit weather. The sw, Wales, nth England, Scotland and Ireland are all such happier places to be than London and district and im pretty sure a large majority of people would agree..
In my opinion, i've found London has a disgusting arrogance problem where a large amount of the people living there are so stuck up their own asses they think the world revolves around them and their smog filled shitty city. (sorry London ;) raaa) I have lots of mates from there, and im definately not trying to say i hate Londoners, but i do have to rate it at the last place in the uk i will ever live/visit again. It has potential to have some good nights out though if it wasnt so polluted with muppets trying to stare ya out and if the pints never cost 4 quid each!
So whats this about a party then? ay up lets supp!

I made far more friends in London than up North. I guess at the end of the day, it's horses for courses.
but i do have to rate it at the last place in the uk i will ever live/visit again.

Check you:laugh_at:
The point been that there's no point me giving out info to someone who blatently isn't go.
plus its a known fact that northerners are friendlier.
p.s that excludes the south west by the way who are very friendly.

OK Mr Caver, maybe it depends on where u r up North. I was in Lancaster, which was fckuing miserable as sin (except 4 me that is). The reconciling point would then be that one cannot generalise from this to the whole of the North. Seems reasonable :bounce_fl (also have a good one)
As an afterthought, why don't u change ur name to Northcaver...

TBH people in East Anglia are fairly friendly and there really was a "village style" community spirit (like strangers saying hello to you etc) even in Ipswich, until Christmas 2006..
any area can be bad or good, but it only takes a few incidents to change things for the worse for long periods of time or maybe permanently...

nah man, i flew down last week as it happens to pick up something and it reminded me how much i hate the place tbh.. thats been about 5 years since i was last there and unless i have to fly in for something or other important again, i wont be back - EVER. i just dont feel that london buzz like londoners do.
i get some really strange looks as i hand over Scottish notes in the shops even still. almost looks of 'how dare you try to spend that in here, this is London you are in- THE CAPITAL OF THE WORLD!' haha its mad but true.
maybe us northerners should flood London and see if we can make it a happier place to be :P there must be loads of spare property down there as theyve all moved up here!! :laugh_at:
