Visiting Amsterdam from canada

I am coming to Europe in October, mainly visiting amsterdam

im traveling from Canada, and am looking to experience the night life scene of the town, so i was wondering where I can learn about parties, and buy tickets if necessary, and also wondering if anyone has knowledge about hostels in amsterdam?

they also have a forum where you can ask and locals / regulars about club nights / ticket info and will usually reply with decent info
they also have info on hostels and hotels / B&B's and reviews of peoples experinces


there may be a few people on here who have lived / live in the Dam that may be able to answer but the link defo worth a try

dam is overpriced, your better going somewhere else less touristy in holland.
