Right folks, I think we actually need to sort out a PV party for next year.
I have been a member here since 07 and have yet to meet some of you. I think this website is large enough and that by having a PV party it would solidify our position as one of the UKs top Party Websites.
I Am prepared to organise or help organise a two day event in the southern areas or if someone knows someone with some land and would be prepared to let us have a party there that would be the one.
I don't know how we'd go about it but i really want this to happen so if you want to pitch in and help then please do.
Obviously we'd do it by the book and be in full cooperation with the council we hold the party in.
I have contacts that can provide security and first aid. We'd need a TEN's license but i don't know what else.
Would be great if any rig owners helped as well but if not then i shall look into renting a soundsystem.
We'd have to obviously pay for it ourselves in the form of tickets but try to make it as cheap as possible.
Also try and sort out transport routes as well so if people are coming from far away they'd know where to go, and even maybe run coaches. minibuses from designated spots.
I think from now to next year would be enough time to sort this out so if you're willing to help then jump aboard and lets get the ball rolling.

think to get a licence you need the layout soughted and health and safty preposal .. or what ever it's called .. so i think venue and stages (amount of) should be decided first .. but i not helped to organise an event like this so will be more a learning curve. allso i think it should be a privet party for pv members only with invite as we don't want randoms causing trouble turning up and just wandering in also it will bode well with the people who dish out the licence that we are monitoring who comes to it .. i allso think we should make it for a cause ... (probably not be alowed to sell beer there as that's a whole diferant licence .. so cash can't be generated for charity from that) mby have food and facepainting ,hair braiding and fun stuff like that ..

i'd like to sugest melingitus reasurch as i lost 2 good friends to it one was negligence when diognosing it .. and i think the more we know about it the better ..
all sugestions should be discust and an agreement made for what we think is the right way forward tho ..
DJCliffy

Yeah doing it for a charity or even a few charities would be the one. As i have said i am prepared to organise it but doing it with a committee would be better,
A charity inspired event would the better cos it would show that it's not a money making exercise but a gathering of good people listening to good music and just having a good time.
Beer and alcohol we can sort ourselves, bring your own. It would have to be exclusive to PV members but they can bring whoever as long as they are sound.
As i have said i have an old mate from school who runs a security firm, He has provided security for the V festival and a couple other big events. I should be able to get a good deal from him. We'd need security that way it would show the authorities we are serious about it.
First aid is a must, Try and contact St Johns or someone like that.
See how much portable toilets and a shower would be.
Find out costs and set the ticket prices accordingly.
We can do this, if we all put our minds to it we can pull it off, I am very much up for this.
PV needs an event like this.

you need a book called the purple guide published by health and safety executive (I think its somethign like "risk management at public events" which has all the safety rules in
I think meningitis and a NHS hospital trust would be good charities as it shows us ravers are putting something back into the NHS (other than casualties!)
I have a lot of experience with telecoms and radio systems and logistics for events, was a Civil Servant for 4 years so know how to deal with Whitehall and Councils and would be willing to assist with this. Naturally I would prefer a venue in the East of England, particularly Essex or Suffolk. Not just because I live nearby but I want to show that we can organise a decent and safe event here...

Right well when i thought if planning this event, I actually thought this would go alot smoother if you were on-board GL, I mean you have alot of knowledge on the subject. Plus I'd feel safer if some like you were on board. I haven't a clue how to go about this. Got a vague idea lol!
Yeah east of England would be good. Whereever we decide to hold it i will plan transport routes and try to make them as hassle free as possible. Also run a minibus service so those without cars will be able to get to the event from designated meeting points,
I'll have a word with my mate about security and see what he says about quotes and stuff like that.
I'll have a look at that book as well GL,

I'm well up for this Cliffy and will do my best to help organise.
East of england sounds a good bet 'cos it's not too far for either us Northern crew or those that live in the South. I'll catch a train to wherever tbh.
Minibus sounds a great idea, always baffles me when 20 people drive from the same location each in their own car! Bad for the environment, and it's nice to not drive and have a pint or two!

Hi all!
Can I make the suggestion that people seriously consider doing events as benefits for the Legalise Cannabis Alliance (LCA). These guys are doing sterling work, and actually the LCA really needs an input of energy/people as well as dosh:
Leviticus Community Forums • View topic - The Legalise Alliance Campaign Needs your help folks! (http://www.leviticuscollective.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=640)
I do actaully have some land in east sussex on which a party could be had...but I'm not really into a big pay event, but maybe a private party type thing that would be legal without needing a licence. Its still not illegal to invite your friends to your party! (other than possibly public order or noise issues). So that could be a space for say 100-200 people. One condition, no psy trance all night please!..nice cosmic mix of happy hardcore, dubstep etc mixing into the pys trance (not progressive) say post 2/3 am.

also if your trying to get a legal event going like this you don't really want something advocating the use of illigal drugs getting in the way of any licence proposals. It brings unwanted attention.

well if that is the case .. then it's easyer to get than a selling licence ...
there was a legal party this weekend what didn't sell booze but let you bring it your self ... this sugests to me either you don't need a licence or it's easyer to get other wise i would imagin they would of been selling it there...

Yeah mate, PV members mates would be allowed, make tickets available to everyone.
Just have to make a rule though that if anyone misbehaves and gets warned more than three times then out they go.
Most festivals / parties throw people out the first sign of trouble so having a three strike rule is fair i think.

im happy to throw a soundsystem and that into it. were upgrading everythin atm as well so it should be twice the size by the time this is sorted. plus decks and lighting and all that.
also got a mate that can get good prices on generators, porta-loos, lighting and that.
he recently sorted two 50k gennies, about 8 toilets and lots of lighting for a festival we helped with for free, so should be pretty damn cheap.
where would this be do ya reckon??, fair few of you are from up there so midlands would be good i guess, if not and people are happy to travel then theres land we could sort in oxfordshire,

I like the sound of that Tek mate. I'm sure others would be happy to travel there as well. Roughly whereabouts in Oxfordshire (North, South etc) is it?
If you can find out more from that farmer it would be greatly appreciated.
I'm thinking sometime next summer would be the one, plenty of time to plan and hopefully it wouldn't clash with any other events in the area.
What does everyone think?

Right i've had a look at Oxfordshires website and have found the section about planning public events.
The organisation of any public event, regardless of its size or the numbers of people attending, requires careful planning to ensure the safety of the public. Any event which involves any of the following will require a licence:
* 500 or more people attending
* sale of alcohol or food
* the playing of amplified or live music
So if we can hold an event in Ox then at least we know who to contact.

yeah its a good place, my mates dad is the owner and hes fine with us doing an event there for free, we were ment to do one last month but never got round to it so he still owes me a free event there ;)
if people are happy to travel to oxfordshire ( tetsworth in south ox to be precise) then that venue is a dead cert. its got plenty of parking and tree cover and would be an ideal size for a pv gathering, could easily hold 500 people.
if you guys want then ill let him know if it helps with any planning.

Ok so you don't like cannabis. HOWEVER from my experience of the rave scene especially the free party scene this is an issue that affects many many people. (Just like legalisation of Extasy). Legalisation of cannabis would in fact help many many people from medical users to party people. LCA is a very worthy cause and very relevant to this forum/group of people. There is also the issue to raising consciousness. Listen crews/people action is needed on this, so if not for this particular event, please think hard about getting benefit events together for this cause which affects many of us in a very direct and serious way. Heads out of sand please. Anyone can get busted then its becomes very real in a potentially horrible way. I've put a lot of effcort into campaigning for other people, then I kinda thought maybe I should put some efort into helping myself out!
Check this webpage out for more info:
http://www.leviticuscollective.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=640
You peeps need to know about the Levicticus Collective anyway.
Why not do a joint (haha) benefit? I would suggest a cause that doen not have much money that the dosh would really make a difference, i.e. not a mainstream type charity. Heres a blody good cause for example:
Official Web Site of the Leonard Peltier Defense Offense Committee (http://www.whoisleonardpeltier.info/index1.htm)
Heres another:
Home | Free Tibet (http://www.freetibet.org/)
I agree that limiting the supply of alcohol is sound...a shity drug in the rave context, again from long experience.
As for sounds, how about the (Cris/arron etc) Liberator crew - old school RTS (Reclaim the Streets)/anarchist crew - sound vibes....but a bit much for 12 hours.
Personally I'd like to see happy hardcore for the start of the evening, going into hardcore grinding techno, and then mellowing to good pys trance, with some dubstep thrown in!
All the best,
Blessings

as if its gonna be a ten's (? is that right) people with previous experience and health and saftey knowlegde etc would be highly valued, and you guys on the techie side etc
oh, how exciting :bounce_g::bounce_g:
that sounds like a good idea
perhaps a new sub forum for it?
im excited already
