i have a vst synth on cubase and what i want to do is cut off the bit's of reverb ect. that overlap the end of the track ... now to do this i figured the best way was to capture the midi in audio format ... now i thought i would need a sampler for this .. but it seems you need the sound in audio to use the sampler in the first place ... so other than exporting everything bit by bit into audio is there an easyer way of doing what i want? ... i seen some one directly record onto another track from midi to audio (at least i thought it was audio .. either way it captured the audio and not the actualy sine wave from the synth that varies each pass due to various ossalations ect.as every time you played it back it was the same) but this was on logic on the mac and not cubase ...

any ideas?

Simon say :

easiest way is to edit the synths reverb itself by either turning it off or knocking it down

makes no sense to me though :laugh_at:

that's not what i want to do ... i want to keep the reverb ... i just want to capture the midi into audio rather than it playing directly from the vst synth ... and i can do this .. but i know there's an easyer way then what i am doing ... but dunno how to do it

if you want to record the sound your synth is making into an audio format, just put that bit in a section of the timeline by itself, highlight it blue and export it as an audio mixdown.. wav format or whatever?

yeah that's the way i been doing it pretty much .. but there is a way you can do it real time onto another track and edit the paramiters catching the changes as you do them rather than having to just use one preset value on what ever efect you are useing

why dont you use automation where it changes the reverb at different times... automates the knobs

na i need the reverb as it is .... it's just when it overlaps the end of the track that i dont like .. and some times effects change on each pass as it hits a diferant bit of the lfo wave each go ... so i want to effectivly rip it in audio format to another channel
