a virus called infostealer.banker.c?

I have Norton 360 anti-virus software and just now it has flashed up that has detected and stopped this virus from fucking my computer. It's a bit unnerving though cos on the norton reports, it shows the virus tried getting into my computer 6 times today. Has anyone else had a problem with this virus? :hopeless:

trojan horse is far more a type of "virus" than anything else, in fact, its not a virus technically. ERm, not very helpful however. sorry!

This fucking infostealer shit is still on my computer. Ran a full scan which took bloody ages last night and it came up clean. Turned me computer on just now and Norton blocked this virus from accessing files. It's a right fucker to remove. Apparently it rewrites itself as you try to remove it. If i ever met the fuckers who made this virus i would kick their arse and make them suck off a horse. The twats. :head_bang

Update your virus definitions then restart your computer in safe mode and run a scan.

That should remove it and after that get rid of norton as it's a piece of shit.

Yeah got rid of norton in the end, installed avg 8.5 and it's done the job. Norton was rubbish, kept informing me of the virus but didn't delete it.

As well as AV, install something like Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php) or Spybot - Search & Destroy (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html) as well, they go beyond virus and trojan protection and stop non-virus malware like hijackers, key-loggers, advertising servers and suchlike crap. Both are free, MWB seems simpler to setup whereas Spybot needs more manual configuration. But if you spend a little time to get Spybot doing automatic updates and use its Immunise option to hook into your web browser then folk on Usenet say it's even better protection.

just in responce to someone saying they had a trojan. its not a virus its an info recorder. if you play online games, internet banking, hell logins for your e-mail it will all be recorded and sent off to either a pc or a server. and even tho avg might of said it removed it you can get nasty buggers that lie dormant for a few weeks and arnt detected. id recomend formating your pc to and reinstalling windows to be sure its gone.

Its a banking trojan.

There are GB's of logs for sale out there. It would have been scanning your IP range/lots of other ranges for a while

Install the latest patches on your PC. Or install Linux

I downloaded AVG and it sorted the problem out. Fucking hate these cunts who make these sorts of things. They need shooting. In the balls.
