As a parent i think this is absolutely wrong.

A 29-STONE mum who feeds her eight-month old triplets with McDonald's has insisted she is bringing the tots up in the “best way she can".

Leanne Salt, 24, said she is too busy” to properly feed daughters Deanna and Daisy and son Finlee.

So she lets them eat her takeaways and gives them Wotsits snacks and microwave meals.

I don't have kids but I was one about 25-30 years ago, and going to a fast food place was rare. Even then whatever they put in MacDonalds still disagreed with my stomach..

its a difficult one though as there is loads of good British food to feed kids (the Americanisation of our diet always annoys me and is the cause of much of this obesity..)

but to prepare it tends to need dedicated parents and preferably families what stay together

I doubt the kids cost £200k to deliver though, its about a few hundred quid for each baby otherwise NHS would be totally bankrupt here as nearly 10 000 babies are born in Suffolk each year alone!

obviously she dosn't have the skills to cook and organise her time. she probably dose not have a lot of awareness of consequence for her children. it is likely she is psychologically fixated on her own food and body image issues at the expense of caring properly for her children.
she needs help 1 with her own issues that make her wan't to over eat (not likely she chooses to be that size) and 2 in understanding the impact her behaviors (and this will likely be more complex than just food issues) will have on her children.
Rather than veiw her as a hate figure you should understand that she may have a mental illness as well as learning or educational difficulties.
It is very easy to be lead by the tone of the newspaper article but if you read between the lines and think about it the real wrong is the Newspaper vilifying a mentally ill person to fuel an appitite for public disgust that they have infact created themselves.
Is this realy a public interest story? Do i care that she feeds her children burgers?

they should already be known to SS- if the health visitors are doing their job propperly!!!

she should be getting support from health visitor / midwife and ss if this is the case, and she should be sent on parenting classes or atleast nutritional info classes, however whilst she has parental responsibility for them she chooses ultimatley what they get to eat,
I'd like to see how big her mum and brother are - and whether it is just plan lack of nutritional understanding and not getting the advise herself as she was growing up from mum - or plan ignorance and not giving a fuck and treating the kids like a doll - she can occasionally dress up :wink:

I love mcdonalds.... great 'the morning after' food. Really though people that big should have to take classes during their pregnancy about healthy eating and a healthy diet for children. It seems unfair that those kids have to put up with what they get because thats all the mums willing to give.
