just really wanted to know where most people were from, I'm from London and wondered how many people on this site live in London?

Hi, yes, hello to you too.

As I said, just throwing this post up on here in the hope of reaching out and touching some like minded people in London / my area.

Outside of my regular 9-5 job me and my friends try to put on as many parties as we can with varying success, but lately we're getting fed up of doing bars and small rooms in clubs etc and have been getting our hands on bits of soundsystems / equipment and black lights and canvas murals and trying to set up parties in different spaces and are trying to find a warehouse space to use.

Furthermore we're really interested in teaming up with other people since it's all about the music and the party and good company.

Me and my mate Rob Stringer do a regular Underground House Radio Show on the pirate station House FM 88.6FM here in London called SOCIALISE, just in case you were interested I cut a bit of info from our web-site so you can see what were all about and maybe have a listen if you are chilling out at home on the internet when our show is on one Saturday afternoon, here's what we are all about:

Socialise | House 88.6 FM | Every Sat | 4pm-6pm | Stream Live: www.housefm.net

Right now one of London's most dependable underground house shows is HOUSE FM’s SOCIALISE, and with Simon Page and Rob Stringer manning the controls that should come as no surprise to those that appreciate their underground sounds. Regular HOUSE FM listeners will already know SOCIALISE from their drive-time radio show broadcast over the city of London’s airwaves each and every Saturday afternoon come wind, rain or shine. SOCIALISE characterise their sound as a dubby, low slung, stripped-down take on underground house coupled with an irresistible blend of spacey grooves, earthy bass and a warm melodic vibe that also makes it interesting listening for people who don't want to dance.

Is there anyone on here that's feeling the same sort of vibes etc?

Simon

Hi P0ly, already had a set a few days ago as we'd found an ideal space in the Leytonstone area that a few years ago we went to autonomous party and were fortuneate enough to contct the spaces owner, but tehy bluntly told me that they were having issues with their licence and weren't even putting on their own galleries / parties and that the only thing I could do was call back in a couple of months. So still looking for a space, not a big one just enough for abotu 100 people at the VERY most, we're pretty small!

Nice one, from reading through a number of posts it's seems pretty wide ranging all the people on here, the forum is also quite busy. I think I saw a post about a party in Australia or Canada or somethig earlier today, he he he.

Have any of you managed to team up with fellow posters on here (that you DIDNT already know) at any parties then?

not to far from gants hill ... i now live about a five minit drive from hainault .. i probably know you allready lol ... i used to work as a chef in the old maypole and the great spoon  (oh and i am guessing you used to drink in the val?)

spage
24-04-2009, 11:46 AM
Yeah, the Val was my regular hang out around 16-24 ish, as all my mates lived in the area and it was a massive pub that we could all get to AND get served in when we were too young, we then kind of stuck with it for a while as always loads of different peolpe in there. . . Ahhhh . . . . wipes tear from eye while reminiscing . . . Moved on now though :)

Did you ever go to any of the squats / free parties at 419 in Leytonstone . . . I think they used to use it as a gallery too for artist types. i think it was called 419, if you've been there you'll know the place!

p0ly

did u have any luck with the cd?

spage
24-04-2009, 12:14 PM
I tried the tecnique with ITunes and got the mix up there which was no problem, but when I tried to use the file (i tracked it down by looking at the properties of the track in iTunes so that I could find it) the web-site threw up a message saying there was a conflict with the WMA (Windows Media File) file and something to do licencing.

I can use a PC but sometimes I run into spots of bother with things like this. Recently all my audio files keep opening in Nero and I cannot figure out how I managed to change it over from Winamp or Windows Media Player. The only thing I can think of is that when I've been burning my Mp3's for my CD's that I use when I DJ I selected a track and listend to it in Nero and somehow changed a setting that turned Nero into my primary play back. I have fiddled around and my bro advised me and seemed to have got it sorted so all Mp3's played in Windows, but when I found the iTunes track in my C drive the track was in this silly Nero format??

Sorry for the ramble there, but think I'll need to get the brother onto it after work tonight before he goes out on his usual mission!

Really want to get those mixes up on here.

Hello daft! Just saw your reply about the Gants Hill Squat - MAN! I WAS in the Valentine pub for a portion of the evening right NEXT to it . . . We then wen't home, a few days later opened the local paper and READ about it. I was SO gutted. Just goes to show how sound proof those cinemas were / are, we were near it and couldn't hear it. However, we left the pub around the closing time most likely and perhaps the squat hadn't even kicked off. I read that eventually it got a bit mental and there were people miling around outside which drew attention to it. Is that how it went.

Tell me more about it please as the paper probably bullshitted and made up what they couldn't validate.
