Easy now, I'm planning a 7-10 day excursion to Ibiza next year for me and my mates. My way of thinking is that i should at least experience it at least once in my life. I'm well up for going over there!

Anyways has anyone on here been to Ibiva before? I wanna see about getting a villa as hopefully there will be a good few of us. Any tips or hints would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks guys!

One of my mates went and she said the best way is to plan quite a bit before because the superclubs are so expensive (fifty euros and more, seven for a bottle of water apparently) and with the exchange rate being so rubbish atm maybe thats good advice.

its meant to be sick though! have a good one!

Well hopefully in a years time the exchange rate should be better. I'm looking into getting a villa, gonna do it properly but yeah is gonna be alot of planning!

i been twice ... first time i was 6 .. so can't remeber much other than driving a 4x4 jeep on the beach which was fun. second time i was a bit older .. mby14-15 .. and that holiday went a bit tits up as the mate i went with's mum and step dad got into a big bust up when pissed and he started whacking her about ... so me and my mate pushed him into the bath and gave him a dig or two then fucked off with his mum to the girls room (his sister and her mates) to seek refuge ... next thing we hear all this smashing and the dude has ripped the apartment to pieces and thrown the bed off the balcony into the swiming pool lol ... after he finaly calmed down we found out he had taken a whole bottle of strong sleeping pills and then got all funny again and tryed to run off into ibiza town on his own .. we chased him cos he would of just passed out some where and most likely died if we hadden't .. caught him quit easily as he was pretty sleepy allready from the pills .. then called an ambulance and got him to hospital to get his stomach pumped ... don't go to ibiza man ... it's a horrible place .. just don't go! :laugh_at:

the blame doesn't lie with the area but bear in mind this is the impression that the local Spanish people get of their foreign (i.e. British) visitors and it rubs off on people like health service staff, cops and business owners what have to pick up the pieces...

it may be worth keeping away from the obvious "tourist trap" areas of the island ; apparently there is some "more underground" scene in Ibiza but I've only heard this from older people what have mostly given up partying...

when we went to barcelona my mate got sunburnt ridiculously then had an allergic reaction to biological washing powder, had to go to hospital

anyway they repeadetly asked at the hospital if he had taken any drugs
time and time again
didn't believe him that he hadnt

Tbh you get trouble everywhere

spot on.

there's so much paranoia about travel, any city you go to you hear all this about muggings and pickpockets and scams

what people don't realise is tourists coming to major british cities are warned about the exact same things

there are opportunists everywhere

the worst part of it is South Essex used to be the hub of the rave scene in the East of England at one point - but now there is a lot of beef between crews what try to act as hard as East London. Its not so bad (but still a risk) in North Essex and South Suffolk.

Whilst the trouble is worldwide, I do think its a "english disease" of people going on holiday and having domestics or fights amongst their so-called friends ; as I read a lot of foreign news sites and especially crime news and never hear of these incidents happening amongst the natives of other nations...

to be fair this was two spanish guys attacking a groupe of german guys .. and the german lot must have really pissed off the locals as the one spanish dude out of the two that had just hopped off a moped knocked one of the FIVE germans out and glassed the other in the face b4 the rest ran off leaving there mates behind which i thought was a bit cuntish of them as these were their mates and it was only fear that stoped them helping .. the spanish didn't "do them over propper" just what i described was quit funny at the time as this one dude was well skinny and fucked them both up scaring the mates off .. but in hynd sight it's a bit sick that people are like this .. both the german lot for running off and the spanish for kicking off like that as it was clear the germans were not up for a fight ... but i guess i just become numb to it all as it happens every day .. i just try and avoid that shit if i can

where, in Romford or Ibiza? TBH it is hard to tell as this sort of shit could happen in any of the 25 EU nations!

The incident profiles I'm thinking of though are more to do with people from England what know one another, often family units going on holiday in a group to somewhere like Ibiza or similar European resort. the group then argues amongst themselves and a serious domestic incident occurs -like what you mentioned or worse - stuff like people "accidentally" falling off balconies etc..

whilst hopefully it will never affect someone like Cliffy directly, if a incident of this nature has occured in the villa or the surroundings he is planning to stay in it will affect how the locals view English people. same as how East Europeans fighting with knifes or Muslim extremists change the views English people have of different cultures/races for the worst.

Always worth a check on the news (you can get local spanish news in English for expats and tourists) before picking a place to stay.

I wish I could find the details of the underground parties but the lady who knows all about this (used to live there) doesn't rave any more and I don't see much of her. Also I think she said the (British-run!) local "mob" had intimidated all the free party crews and/or dobbed them into the guardia civil (a bit of both) to get people back into the superclubs...

this was the "guy getting bottled" i was talking about in the earlyer post in ibizza

funny you should mention "acsidently" falling off balconys .. the guy i went to ibizza with subsiquently fell off a balcony in austria on an "exchange" skying trip with school tring to climb round to the girls balcony as we were seperated due to still being at school. :laugh_at:
