you know how its usually in the bottom right corner with the time and little msn icon n the rest of it. mines dissapeared...how do i get it back?

I know you can drag it from the start panel onto the desktop but not to the taskbar

Right click the bar at the bottom, in a blank space, and click properties. From there look through the tabs until you find the right option bar. Im on Vista so it may be different although mine is under "Notification area", then "System icons" box, with the option "Volume", if you are on vista :)

Alternatively you can access the controls from Start > Control Panel > Sound

i did that but then it wouldnt let me click on the volume thing. it was all grey and unclickable haha. any ideas?

yeh the actual sound is fine i just cant get the icon to appear

Strange. I was thinking maybe your soundcard/output had been disabled. So not too sure if you have sound and you can select the option.

Maybe have a look through where i said above (sound ect in control panel) and see what your options are there.

Are you on XP or Vista

Hmm had a look around can't see any extra options. Have you tried a simple reboot since? Are you sure you can't remember what you did? This is a really weird issue :weee:

open it from your control panel and it should reappear in your taskbar

Go to control panel then (when set to classic view) go to sound and audio devices and there should be an option to put an icon in the task bar.
