Do you use any of these following companies that either hold your card details on their server, or manually type them in (meaning you purchase online but they actually do a 'cardholder not present' transaction where no PIN number is needed):-
CPC
Adam Hall
Terralec
Electrovision (Distributor)
Rapid Electronics
If so then carefully check your statements for strange payments (normally £25 or £50) with this in the transaction details:
"VODAFONE CR CARD T"
I have had four £25 payments taken from my account and have only ever used my debit card to purchase from these companies. Never had any involvement with Vodafone. Payments to other companies have always been through paypal, google checkout or secpay (secure merchant thingy)
I hardly ever use the card for purchasing from shops and where I do i always cover my hand when entering pin number etc
It is possible that one of these companies has someone dodgy working for them - if you use them then double check your statements. They would have had to also use the CVV number on the back (submitted online when purchasing)
Barclays are swift at sorting this for me and definately getting my money back, but for people using company purchasing cards they might hit for bigger amounts.
Keep your eye out peeps!
