I was even tempted to join you lot but its now nearly £40 return on the train and there are no trains between Colchester and Billericay so it would also be a sketchy bus journey on all the knackered busses  and that is no fun on a comedown :yakk:

thanks for the kind offer but I've also got to try and keep my brain in some decent state as I went out last weekend and got trashed, and also get my house cleaned up in case my mum comes down from Malaysia for her half term break at the start of march (she's a teacher there) and I'm going out next week as all my local mates are putting on a legal event..
I really do want to go to London one weekend but with a decent safe group of people in a friendly place (even the better run squat parties aren't as good as they used to be) - maybe one day will get this sorted out...

Sorry about that message before, I was tripping balls when I wrote it.
I didn't go to the party, but apparently there was a lot of trouble at the beginning. I heard a gang turned up and were really violent, with people getting injured so much that ambulances had to come and take them to hospital. Also, OB turned up but left after a while when things had calmed down.
After everything was back to normal (as much as it could have been - par the very bad vibes and atmosphere from the previous events), I heard it went really well with Ajja banging out a particularly good set.
Maybe its a good thing you gave it a miss... :crazy_diz

sounds pony TBH, and not the first time that has happened (its even resulted in CO19 evicting everyone before!)
Glad I didn't spend loads of money to get there, I hope everyone what went from PV had as much of a good time as they could and got back safely....
its a shame as London parties in the "good days" were some of the best....

hey its cool yeah i just read on sj early in the night a load of pikeys from a local site turned up and tried knicking the rig but it didnt happen so they then smashed all the windows on the out side of the building and fucked of but i did hear it was a ok party after and some people said there was more people there than the nye party that was there did any one make it?
DaftFader
22-02-2009, 06:21 PM
yeah there was trouble at the beging .. what happened is a gang turned up to try and rob the sound system ... there was alot of security and they were BIG guy's that looked like ex milatery or mafia ... a few people got hurt .. i saw one guy who had been koshed with some object on the back of his head ... but i don't think the gang made it that far into the party b4 they got ejected as the security was pretty tight
that did set a bad vibe for a party but even tho that happened it still was a very very well organised party... amasing visual displays and uv back drops/murals wall to wall through out most of the building (the main room was a very big warehouse sized room)
and loads of people there ... all pretty dam safe people as well .. other than the robbers
just ashame it got off to such a bad start
no matter how organised the organisers are you can't help who turns up at the party door if it's going to be a big party - all you can do is deal with any problems when/if they happen .. and the robbers didn't sucseed in taking any thing, so other than a few people getting hurt (witch is worce imo but couldn't of been helped as for the security to know the people are "bad" them people first have to do some thing in order for them to realise ..witch was hurting people and then they acted and got rid of them) there were no other mishaps as far as i know.

at least you and the others from here presumably had a good time and got out safely.....
its OK for punters and the security did their job but the organisers are gonna have to watch their step as metpol are smart these days, they don't go in heavy quickly but gather intelligence and go for the big fish (i.e the ones what are making money) rather than the small ones....
some people are claiming its pikeys, other that its "millwall firm"
FFS I can remember DJ'ing on a pirate in SE London in the very early days of the rave scene (1990-1991) and in them days you even put aside your footy loyalties to party together, our DJ's were half Millwall and half Palace supporters (we did ban discussing footy at station meetings though as it led to arguments :laugh_at:)

Football and raving doesn't mix imo! I remember going to a rave about 6 years ago and a massive argument was kicking off between two rival gangs. I actually went up to them and asked them why when there was plenty of rugs about and decent music were they bothering about fucking football! They soon realised their folly and got on with partying. I like to think it was me who sorted this ruckus out and not the 5 bouncers threatening to throw them out!
Some clubs bar folk wearing football shirts now don't they?

fair play dude..
even if you are into footy surely you watch your match first for Saturday afternoon, then have your tea and then go raving and forget about all the rivalry etc? thats what we did in the 90s...
this old boy I know round this way has got a tractor boys (ITFC) beermat and deliberately offers wannabe norfolk rudeboys (canaries supporters) lines off it, some whinge but he tells them "do you want this line or not?" :laugh_at:

thats true but they had the sense to confine the beef to the football ground..
when we had a squat in Reading we had two radios and two loudspeakers for everybody to listen to
one was tuned to 104.4 MHZ FM BBC Radio Berkshire for the football commentary
the other was set to 451.75 Mhz NFM Thames Valley Police "Mike Two Hotel Bravo Silver Command" (this was the mobile control room at the Madjeski stadium - no airwave radios in those days...)

The trouble was dealt with swiftly, the security there were tight. I heard the police came along later but soon left. The place looked AMAZING, the crew had really gone all out and it was packed. Personally I don't think the trouble early on had much of a long term effect on the mood, more gave people something to chat about. I think it showed everyone how good the security were and if anything made most people feel a bit safer. It did stop us going out to find a cash point though. :laugh_at: Good to see some PV peeps. The drinks tokens things was a bit of an arse, I always hate that and I've never seen it at a free party before.

You have a balloon stall, a token stall and a drinks stall. Balloons are paid for there (due to them all being the same price). To get drinks you buy tokens then exchange them for the drinks you want.
I think you might pay in tokens so the bar staff don't have to faff about with coins counting them up in darkness. Its can get a bit messy when you're off your face but I'd rather pay with 2 tickets than a bunch of 20's and 10's...

yeah i think your right ...as the person who i was talking to who was part of the crew yold me .. "the robbers came" .. and not "some robbers" .. and also other things he said made me think that that they were noticed and had been seen b4 .. i think he said some thing like some of them got through security b4 the clocked on who they were as they wern't doing any thing bad at the time .. but others were caught and then it all became apparent.. and some one else had told me that the same thing was attempted a few partys ago ... but it all got dealt with b4 it got too out of hand

To be honest I think the tension has been simmering for a while now. Most of the parties I go to in London have, how shall we put this - 'undesireables' who aren't there for the music. Unfortuantly it's difficult to turf the brats out cos they kick off and OB become involved. I guess this is what happened at the weekend, sort of glad I wasn't there

i thought the entire "token system" was to prevent people getting done for alcohol sales legilsation i.e. not licensed
its a bit like you can gamble with tokens but not money unless you are licensed
also i'm not entirely sure football firms have the power or the influence anymore to rob anything but an grans mobility scooter.
