Uploading a Mix

hey guys,

quick question - can anyone give any really easy to follow advice on how to compress a wav file please, ive got a mix thats 100+mb over the 300mb limit to get it on sendspace

when you load wavs into itunes itll convert them to mp3 , think an hour long mix comes to about 65mb

Only if you've got it set to do so - but if not, you can do it via a right-click in iTunes.

right click the song then clickk show in explorer (or somethin like tht) - it'll show u the file location
just find whatever folder its in and upload it to sendspace...

and a 44min mix converted to 192 kbps is 60.6MB if thts any help to ye...

Audacity is a cross-platform audio editor, and it has a plugin called LAME which allows it to export to MP3. I've not used them on Windows but LAME is *the* Open Source mp3 encoder and the encoding quality is usually reckoned to be first rate. As an audio editor you can probably also use it to tidy up any fluffs or make a better run-in/run-out.

Have a look (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/about) and maybe download them (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/windows) (free of course!) and see if it suits you.

Playing one tomorrow, not at blueprint though ;) as for going to psycle i havent, going to meet the crew tomorrow ... my live audition and then hopefully give them all a big enough smile to let me play blueprint. As for wanting to hear my tunes, itd be best if you heard it live as i dunno ... trance through home speakers is pretty much an insult and the weird thing is that i get dead nervous knowing its being recorded so my first attempt sounded awful :S

4th of april is my launch night for my own night in nottingham , i might play but need to make it goes smooth ... if you want to pop up though your more than welcome to come visit!

as for the next time im playing for Entity, 28th feb, 14th of march, a date in may.
