Plans for a Christmas outdoor ice rink in Bath have been scuppered over fears it could be used by paedophiles to groom children.

And what about the same ice rinks/skate parks what are found all across the UK without any problems? security at these places or any under 18s venue is very tight now and CRB is a requirement and yet these things happen..

It appears there were multiple agendas and whinges, and "nonces" was just one of the many complaints used to stop this event (but of course the most newsworthy), it ranged from risk of disruption to the kids' schooling to lack of parking spaces (as the ice rink would have been put on the school car park)

This unfortunately is the flipside of so-called "people power" in this country, Middle England communities are increasingly prepared to unite and use whatever counterarguments they can find to stop things happening.

i was gonna say they don't seem to have many problems with these mobile ice or skate rinks anywhere else.
