Mushroom Picking

right im gonna start picking soon earlier than i sueally do but the season is later here than elsewhere generally, has everyone else started already? also does anyone know any good spots in dorset cause im moving to bornmouth on the 21st?

I have heard that a local school's field is a haven for them, or at least was at some point. Someone said how there were always hippies creeping about.

I'll give it an early weekend morning shot, I suppose.

And if the knowledge is so widespread she just happened to know, shit, it's gotta be pretty widespread. So maybe they spray with fungicide, or maybe they've got security guards, or whatever.

well if its anything to go by i get mine from a school playing field, best time go for a pick should be after 5ish when all the teachers ave gone home, people have been pickin there for years never had any trouble with fungicide or security gaurds, jus watch out for the jani!!

same with my old school lol ... they used to grow in abundance on our playing fields .. alot used to get mashed into the floor tho .. but round the edges there were supposed to be some goodens .. i was mainly a weed smoker back then tho so i didn't bother picking .. but some friends who chewed the magic toad at the time said there was magic in that there field :laugh_at:

yeh i think ill go out on sunday down to the usual spots in kent assess the situation i wouldnt normally start till coming up october though and cheers ill remember birdport iv only been bournmouth once so i dont really knoe the area but theres the new forest n that so its pretty natury which can only be good i hear theres alot of deer down there aswell

Anyone know where to find liberty caps in the south bucks area? I've moved here from Surrey and I'm looking for any locals who know of any good sites. I've been doing some looking myself but apart from one mushroom (in my back garden believe it or not) I cant find any.

i think ive been fortunate ... when i went out and tried to pick before i was taught i ate a lot of ones which werent the actual liberty cap ... still standing (thank god!) i pass on my advice of think before you chew!

from what i've read, no, unless you use improper storage techniques they should be the same

they are about twice as strong fresh, mushroom for mushroom when you dry them they loose alot of the chems that your after but they lose even more of everything else, so pound for pound there stronger dry but mushroom for mushroom no they are stronger when they are just picked, quite alot stronger aswell

if the shrooms loose potency the longer you leave them, i'd like to know where the fuck all the psyclibin goes, maybe its them little bugs you find on them they just keep munching away and getting high:laugh_at:

yes. the only active ingredient that survives drying / freezing etc is psilocybin. there are others on fresh mushrooms

they are also more potent at the start of the season. this is the same in home grow / lab conditions where the first flush will be stronger and as growth continues through progressive flushes they become less potent

also, the cycle of 3:

in perfect weather conditions there can be 3 flushes of mushroom a day
mushrooms go in 3 year cycles: year 1 few but potent, year 2 more but less strong, year 3 loads but not strong at all
