A party got off the ground on saturday nite in norfolk and it has been a long time since we hav partied our own county!
The meet point was in an place that we all thort was stupid, but when we got the party we relized y it was used. There was no party lines, just word of mouth and it worked a treat. The convoy drove thru swaffham town centre (pretty slowly) as to make a statement to the police and ppl in power. As the party got off the ground, we were all handed a leaflet by the organisers which sed do not fight because working with the police is the only way, 5 cop cars turned up at the end of the track, but as soon as they found out we were physicaly protesting against there actions by having a party, all except one left the track. Morning came, no riot vans or flourescent jackets, just one police 4x4, in deep conversation with the organisers just 50 yards from the rig (where the party was still havin it!), The party stayed on till bout 12.30, and at the end of the party, the police came up to the rig and told all the norfolk ravers that this party was done well in the middle of a forest and organised, they sed that if we can carry on doing parties like this, but not every weekend, then we will be allowed to do it.:group_hug
For all those who beleived that norfolks party scene was in shreds, think again . . . raaa
P.S.
Any1 else go to this party? There was a fair few ppl there!

TBH it can be done - and I reckon we all know exactly what area of the county can be used for raves without causing undue hassle to the rest of society....
the 12:30 pm stop is a good idea because it means a better clear up is done, afternoon dog walkers/randoms see the rave already stopping and don't bother calling 999 if they think everyone will be gone before cops arrive, and people aren't driving 50-60 miles back home sleep deprived (some dudes have actually got killed this way from our scene)
Bear in mind though this doesn't mean that drugs have miraculously become legal. nor that Britain's traffic laws have been revoked. Its going to be a matter of being sensible about the image ravers present to others.
its not just illegal raves the authorities are worried about but people overdoing drugs as part of their normal lifestyles, many people don't realise that another driver behind the clampdowns is increasing NHS figures of those seeking treatment for problematic drug use...

Good to see that despite the complete police 'lock down' on any events in norfolk this one went off ok with the same meet point and area! Just shows not rinsing it EVERY weekend they are a lot more lenient

yeh i went to the party, i was abit devious since it was gunna b somewhere towards croxton way, but we turned down a track then carried on for what seemed like 3-4 miles so we was literally in the middle of nowhere, phat location, phat party, wicked tunes. only thing that is gettin me down though is that theres still loads of young'uns going, chavs, pikeys etc etc and they tend 2 spoil the party abit, not gunna discriminate but ill just leave it as that.
big up norfolk ayeee!!!!! =)
Yeah i went to this party, it was a sick, best one ive been to this year.

clearly its good everyone got away with it this time but I think people have got to play it really carefully - especially as others are still getting their rigs taken or are yet to appear before Court.
TBH I have slight concerns about this thread being on here as it could anger the "anti rave lobby" who also monitor this site, and the media read here - maybe cops didn't want it widely known - but I'm trusting people judgement to use their "freedom of speech" wisely.
The cops could be being lenient, but they could also be doing a big fishing expedition - indeed a bit of both - letting this event happen is a perfect way of working out and identifying firstly who is still stubborn enough to take these risks and secondly if they are involved in other crime or anti-social behaviour.
here's a tip from the old days - crews like Biotech, Vega, Subversion etc "got away with it" because not only did they do what happened last weekend, but the people involved also didn't draw attention to themselves during the week, i.e they had jobs and didn't deal drugs or nick things to fund their lifestyles...

this party was amazing :)
we traveled for so many hours!!!!!!!

Yeah word has got to me, the speakers/wires ect got at well.
Everything about the party was organized properly except for giving 9 amps for some guy k'd out of his head to drive them out which in turn led to confiscation!
>< that has to be the sickest hit, the amps!

All good advice. I wish people would take some notice!
If it went off well, dont rub peoples noses in it by boasting about it openly the week after, you dont want to get peoples backs up...

the advice from the sensible people on here is pretty much the line the old bill take.
piss em off and rub there noses in it n they come down like a ton of bricks. if you'd keep the partys low key and not caused a nuisance and you'd still be partying now.

harsh, but 80% isn't good enough when the cops and locals are putting in 110% to stop you...
could have been worse, if he had got to the A134 and had a accident hurting himself and perhaps other innocent people - what if the van had burst open and all the "kit and caboodle" gone flying into the road or even straight through the windscreen of a car behind the van, full of a family with kids?
and its not as if the black rats didn't hint in the news last year they were gonna be making sure drivers attending or leaving raves were going to be in something approaching a fit state to be in charge of a motor vehicle..
After witnessing a very nasty prang last year when some people were driving back from a party sketchy and sleep deprived its brought home to me how risky this game can be sometimes..

Get a couple of old Bell Hugh Helicopters and get the rig in that way. They cant stop you coming or leaving the site then.

it doesn't need to be like that and it will fuck your scene over worse than the OB ever could.
back in the day one chap who posts here and his crew very bravely drove away a lot of scum like this from his parties, ranging from petty thieves to organised attempts by racists to fuck over a party (he was only in his late teens/early 20s then as were his mates..)
a lot of people from other ends slag off "Norfolk" but what I will say is that when East Anglian parties are at their best (i.e. when everyones happy and not done too much ket or bringing their domestic arguments to the party)
they are the nearest I have ever experienced to being 18/19 again - and that is not something I say lightly after a fair few years playing this game...

Agreed. If people took the piss a few years back then everyone would usually get together to make it known that their prescence wasn't welcome and the scum would usually bugger off when they realised a whole group of people wouldn't stand for it.
However, it could be argued that the difference these days is that you never know how far people might take it. People tend to hold a grudge and don't know when to stop. Turfing some scummer out means they could come back with back up and weapons. It's not like it would never happen in the earlier days it just seems more people are likely to take it too far these days.... although if a whole party of people wont stand up to the minority then it's a refelection of wider society I reckon.
Who knows I could just be waffling.

I'd say that could happen in London or SE England but is less likely here
when the OB car got smashed up at Parham the feds were getting ready to storm the place (they had apparently started putting on public order gear like the helmets with "VL" and changing from bobby uniform into "everything proof suits.."), and they were really pissed off not only at the trashed car but they had put 16 units into roadblocking the wrong entry point :laugh_at:
but then suddenly everyone came to their senses halfway through the night
some girls gathered up the bits what had been scattered from the cop car and put them in a box, someone else put a tarpaulin over the car to hide it from any further damage - the cops didn't storm the place, and let that party wind down and even let the rig escape (although of course it sparked off the clapmdown)
even when these recent parties have been closed there hasn't been much trouble - although I've seen more beef at EA free parties then I'd wanted to, they are still slightly fluffier than SE England parties...
also East Anglia is big enough to make sure only the crowd you want to know about events can find them...

from your description and the music played I suspect that is a older crowd more into MDMA than ket, booze and coke, or just genuinely friendly people - I bet I probably even know a few of the crews involved , some have been around since the early 90s, and if its who I think they are (or their successors) I can see why that was a good party....
the sad thing is there are so many people what slag off the "fluffy" bits of EA parties and try to make them more edgy when in fact they are really good at their best...
one big factor though is as cops have piled on the presure here only those what think they haven't got anything to lose (i.e younger people aged 14-21) are the majority rather than the wider age range you used to get, and although there are some very clued up and intelligent young people (like all the ones what post on here) their mates don't listen to them when they are in a crew and just carry on doing stupid things or overdoing the drugs
even the original Brains kan vibe wasn't about pelting the babylon with rocks etc or selling loads of ket to fund your life, it was about being a genuine community i.e one what integrates with others in your neighbourhood..
