Well what can i say ...
just got back and i must say that was THE best festy i have ever been to ... no trouble ... no nonsense ... just 10,000 people just out to have a bangin time!
the weather was spot on ... a ten minute rain spell on the saturday i think but it didnt hold anyone back!
loads of bangin music and some fantastic sets ...
my favourites being ...
Jeff Mills, Utah saints, The Orb ... as main ones
most of the psytrance being quite good but to be fair the line-up was lacking in places ... but hey still good to hear through some tidy old funktion 1 kit!
talking about the volume ... did anybody find this year even quiter?
i have also got some photos ...
just need to sleep and then i shall put 'em on :)
night all :)
Hope you're getting some nice rest Digital-A.
Can't wait to see all the pictures! XD

"BARRYYYYYYYYYYY"
was my first glade and sure is hell won't be my last!! had possibly the most fun wknd of my life!! Everything about it was perfect. weather, people, MUSIC, security, all spot on. Apart from the music volume as it got later in the night, especially the overkill, was stupidly quiet. i mean you could hold a full on conversation right at the front of the tent hearing exactly what people were saying. Acts like remarc, bongra, hellfish, shitmatt, rotator are NOT meant to be listened to quietly. other than that, wicked.
Highlights for me: caspa and rusko, cassette boy and dj rubbish (fucking hilarious!!), daddy freddy, bass cleph, ital tek, dreadzone, dub pistols, plastician (dropping the sickest dirtiest dubs i ever did hear!!), friction, current value and many more which i forget right now.
did hear a load of comotion on the friday night in the campsite, some screaming and shouting and chasing going on. Later found out that a bloke was mugged, his missus got involved then the mugger punched the woman in the face and legged it. apparently loads of ruined gladers started chasing himm through the campsite eventually leading him to being arrested . thats the only trouble i heard about all wknd.
Enjoyed the little time i spent at the origin stage, wicked setup and crisp soundin rig, nice to av it in the gorg sunshine. Just a shame it was constant psy trance

Was a super weekend! Weather was just right compared to the floods last year and the heat wave the yr before that!
I got married to my best mate in the inflatable church, the reverand was pissed as a fart, i will post pics asap! We had a buffet of acid and pancakes after :)
Most memorable sets for me were defo System 7, actually brought a tear to my eye, far too loud and paul taylor and antix/fiord purely because it was last act of the weekend and the sun was setting it was just beautiful.
But definately a new kind of crowd compared to the last couple of years, alot more chavs drunk as fuck and i was gutted that glade stage was halved with vapor, there were aload of tents missing too like the roots tent. Which just made all the other tents more general and the music stopped at bout 9, even id spiral had nothing which was a shame.
Overall though a cracking weekend with me homies :)

oh yea think it was you rachus who's music teacher played, christopher d ashley. there's a pic of him above actually but he fucking smashed it! caught his set by accident and he was rinsing some heavy dubstep. was just leaving that tent but then he played that tune 'round the way girls' from the fabric caspa and rusko album, which is prob my favourite tune at present so i charged back in and lept around like a loon. i enjoyed his set.
Loving the piccys Samuwel, which one's you then?
Have you got any Rach?

hmm why don't those of you who are "locals" all write to West Berks Council with a formal complaint that the sound wasn't loud enough?
You paid a lot to be there and you're all over 18 so can vote and presumably either pay Council Tax yourself or contribute to your families payment in housekeeping etc, so have every right to make your voices heard..
The first few Glade festivals were also a concession/climbdown for having less illegal raves in the Thames Valley, as some crews put their efforts into sorting out this festival instead of illegals (it even led to some acrimonious arguments what split some of the crews in this area at that time). As to an extent the "normal society" have got what they wanted, I think in return the older locals simply have to put up with a bit of noise for one weekend, particularly with people paying (I think) over £100 for tickets.

Are you officially married? hehe sounds like you all had a blast.
I'm defo going next time, will get myself a ticket early, sure the earlier you get them the cheaper it is.

Seen Jeff Mills a few times in the past but that Saturday was something else, saying that so was my state of mind!!!
Although it did quieten down later the stuff played in the bar opposite the origin stage after 4am & onwards was a bonus & most people were fairly chilled so it sounded pretty clear
Only downpoint was being to knackered to see the orb the next day. Getting a bit to old for such excess

Yeah all of the above really. Was my first glade, perfect weather, wicked people, lush food, bangin tunes. The whole thing just put me in such a good sate of mind for the whole time, and im still in it now. I spent most of the time on the origin stage just cos I wanted to be outside and was lovin the tunes and the sound system and the whole atmposhere there.
Other than that scotch egg and the whole japanese invasion in overkill was amazing , pendulam, antix/fiord, noisia, a bit of jeff mills and the tribe of frog bit on late friday night/sat morning was bangin.
Did some acid for the first time on sat and second time on sunday. All in all a wicked and definately very memorable weekend.
Roll on next year, well up for waveform now.:bounce_fl

to be honest mate there is nothing i would like to do more than write a letter but realistically ... it will get read but not heard ... even after the Glade organisers GAVE aldermaston village ALL their back up gennys last year and the Glade fire truck to pump water out of peoples houses i find it just a complete and utter farce ... dont get me wrong i appreciate they want their sleep and dont share the same appreciation for our music that we do but they gain so much from the festival ... Glade actual gives the community money to put into the village kitty, alongside a mass of business for the local shop and surrounding pubs and hotel. for gods sake its three days.
i was in work on the tuesday and a lady came in she looks at my wrist band and says ...
''o, so you where there were you?''
to which i replied ...
''yyeeahhhhhhhhh loved it''
then got an absolute earful about how her and her husband live four miles away and jeez louise she didnt shut up ...
Aldermaston ... brghhhhhhhhhh :yakk:
and g.l i would write it but i cant write letters for sh*t ... in answer to your original statement
Rant over :)

This thread is probably really old now! But hey ho! Glade was fucking wicked! Absolutely loved it! Its the best festival I have ever been to! I shall defo never go to Gatecrasher again!
And what stunning venue aswell, we where litter picking so we just ended up staying there for the rest of the week. So only got back last friday!
As for the dj sets, I don't really know many dj names, but I know that i've come away loving techno even more and the dubstep played in the inspriral arena was fucking lovely! I never understood dubstep coz i've always been at a party and they've randomly put it on after a well lively tehcno set or summin, its definaltely wicked to chill out to. I heard a dubstep version of ''everybody was kungfoo fighting'', anyone know the actual name of that or who its by?
Ahhhh met some absoluely beatiful people aswell, may even of met some of you if you where litter picking?
Roll on next year! Where buying a van and travelling around all the festie's for the summer, most of the people we met where off to the Secret Garden festival afterwards and we couldn't go because of commitments!
Oh it was bloody lovely! :group_hug

What a festival... Was well spontaneous for me: my mum called me up on the Friday morning asking if I wanted to go to Glade. Turns out Thatchamites only needed to pay £50 to pay entry, so my mum, thinking it was too good to miss, paid for me to go.
Spent most of my time at the Origin stage, naturally, though I did occasionally venture off to watch other sets, like Scotch Egg's set and Maruosa's set (woot, death metal vocals). The Tribe of Frog stage was a really, really nice surprise too; some phat tunes were played in there.
Think the highlight of the festival for me had to be the little party some dudes and I had on the Sunday night, after the music had finished playing... Ended up playing loads of Astral Projection and other psy in this dude's stereo, with about 5 others, and danced allll night. Was super mega lush.
Managed to spend a grand total of... £10... at Glade. Surprisingly stayed consistently fucked, too. Nice job!
Definitely going to Glade 2009, if there is one; was obviously well impressed with Glade 2008. Got Offworld to look forward to on Thursday though. Yes!
Over 'n' out. :)
