Was just wondering how many of you party animals go to raves and don’t take any illegal substances, have you ever tried going to a rave and stopping on the pop, did you have a better time or did it wreck your night, and how many of you think this is a absurd question and wouldn’t even consider going out without your stash of class As.
Me personally I would like to think I could go out dance like a maniac all day and night and be totally sober, I have tried it on many occasion but it seems I got a harden for extacy that just won’t quit and have to accept it just aint going to happen.

I don't do drugs but I would imagine that going to a rave "on the pop" would suck.

I don’t know if it would suck I love the music and will be quite willing to dance away totally sober, I just find it incredibly hard to turn down any kind of stimulant offered me, and I would like to be able to go out and just buz of the music alone but as I said I just don’t think its going to happen.

It is hard not to do drugs at a rave. Sometimes when i go to one, I like to wait for a while before dropping. I find i get a better buzz when i come up to the music at a rave, not just turning up fucked!

As PP said. My mates reckon they can tell how good the music is by how done in I am. I.e. if it's wicked, I'm practically sober, if its hard trance, I'm gone!!
Also, I like to play sober (ish) so.........

i went to a clubnight sober about a month ago.
I would have taken drugs but i had told a friend i wasn't and she said that if i did then it meant the whole night was a ploy to get her to take drugs!!
I had a great time and danced the night away. It was nice and refreshing to know that i didnt need drugs to have a good time...but i would have prefered to have had them!

Yeah agreed. When I first started going out I didn't do any drink or drugs atall and still loved it, and was still often one of the last ones dancing and havin a wicked time. I still do it sometimes now and really enjoy myself if its a good night. It depends on my mood really. raaa

going down to the pub, or into town to a nightclub! (specially the crap ones we have near here), is very different to going to a rave or good club night sober

Me too. I like going around chatting to everyone and that first, not just mates, but having a good sober conversation with randomers can be just as fun as the fucked up ones :laugh_at:
Its pretty annoying actually. Im always the driver, so obviously I have the keys and lock up. But everytime we get to a party, everyone insists in "just" having this line. Which usually takes fucking ages, because by the time the last person has racked up, someone else decides they want another. Piss take!
It took me about 2 hours to get my mates out and about properly at Uktek, kept having fucking lines, whilst my other mate whinged about his wet sock. Think I went off and went around the whole rave 2 or 3 times before they actually came with me.

Sometimes I'll go and stay relatively sober just have a few drinks or one or two lines, only really if im skint though or been cainin it too much recently to be bothered having another heavy night! If the parties good ie phat tunes nice rig location and people you still have a good time, drugs just enhance that experience! People often get bored though being sober all night, which is lame when my mates run out of money n wanna leave in the morning but I'm still going strong!

:laugh_at: I know exactly what you mean! Sometimes this can go on through most of the night, lucky for me I don't drive so can just get out of the car and go round the party myself, or I just avoid going back coz you know once you do that's it for a long time...

I got into the music (1988) long before the drugs (only started doing them regularly in 1991). I've calmed down loads anyway and rarely do either these days
In recent times I only did drugs to increase my endurance as I was part of a crew and you were there from cracking the warehouse until the packing up time.
Part of the comedown is from lack of sleep and I've found this to be worse if I stay up totally sober (which I did in the 90s a few times as either drugs or money were harder to find in those days!)
The phenomenon of people attending raves and staying in cars is definitely something to do with the coke/ketamine culture. OK this is also because these drugs are fiddly to take without a secure space and surface free from wind, but also parties are less friendly than what they used to be from around 1997-2001 , so people tend to stay in their cliques more (could be a vicious circle though...)

some people stop in there cars i love stomping around talking to randoms tho. if people want to drive somewhere and sit in there car they might as well go to scarbourough and get a blanket over thier knees like all the oaps!

I think its worse in the South East, East Anglia was a bit better.
People tend to only sit in their cars due to some apalling weather conditions last year which is fair enough IMO. What was amusing is a fair few of the people from round where you used to live would start off in one persons car and then they'd all exit and go to their mates car and another load would get in the first one! (not that daft in context as but then you could chat to everyone but not get rained on!)

exactly I always say if you want to sit in your car listening to tunes and doing drugs, do it a home, a lot cheaper that way rather than waiting up all night to drive missions to do it! I refuse to stay in for any longer than racking up a quick line out of the wind unless your monging out before going home. I'm go to parties to stomp chat to people and enjoy being somewhere different!

yeah if its shitting it down then fair enough, but if the weathers alright or just a bit nippy fuck it, get a jumper on. the whole point of going to a party is to be social and meet new people...

Fuck letting people sit in my car! I told everyone, I'm here to party. The car will be unlocked when I'm ready to go home!
In fact all the people who were mashed would end up wanting to sit in the car well before I stopped dancing.
Come to think of it............ maybe that's why people stopped coming with me!!

It was like that at "what's it called view" near Sheff. Literally had to walk about a half mile to the rigs from where we parked. Although we did find a very dangerous shortcut up these rocks. Well dangerous for me at the time anyway :laugh_at:
Glad I brough me raving chair, complete with beer holder. Pocket sized CD case too =D

Sometimes I go clubbing without assistance. If the music is good enough I still have a good time and dance about but I'm normally ready to go home at about 3am.
