I posted about a court date on here and diddnt get bail ended up 3 months in jail before I even got up for sentence.

Didnt have the best case for bail anyway :laugh_at:

If you get jail get your prison addy to a couple of us on here and I'll write to ya. I got letters of someone on here when I was locked up even though I'd never met the guy it made my day.

You know who your mates are when your inside.

nah, I know the area he lives in and TVP used to be pretty lax there... a few years back I saw cops from that very same force turn up at a rave after it had finished and just ignore a huge pile of ketamine on a door frame my mates has just racked up - also people used to get busted with significant amounts of stuff and be let free with cautions... there used to be a rave every weekend and for years nothing happened to the organisers

however there was a big problem with crack/smack dealers - but whats happened is TVP have busted a lot of them - now they are turning on the "lower level" people involved with raves or party drugs.

similar things have recently happened to other friends of mine from round that way.

exactly the same is happening in East Anglia...

a lot of it is happening due to monitoring of vehicle movements and CCTV surveillance, once a vehicle is seen at a rave it is now scrutinised closely wherever it goes (two of my mates from round that way got busted for traffic violations and lost their licenses, and the cops even said "we've been following you about as you go to illegal raves")

last time I went to Reading (last christmas) you couldn't get to some parts of town without running the gauntlet of several cops and a sniffer dog, they had even put up a steel barrier to limit where you could walk so you'd have to go past the cops... now I lived there for 20 years of my life and have never seen that level of police control before...

Whilst things were bad with cops in the 80s/90, from 1997-2004 (and particularly 1997-2001) the authorities in Southern England cut people a lot of slack, and let us get away with loads.

Now for various political reasons they are going back to late 80s/early 90s levels of enforcement (I also suspect that a surge in police resources and the "muslim threat" turning out to be far less of a actual threat has something to do with this...)

Thanks for all the supportive comments guys! I will just have to wait n see what happens, bail should be for a quite a while anyway till anything happens, seems like series of bad luck lead to this including the TVP summer crackdown just gotta keep my fingers crossed n use this as chance to sort myself out a bit!

if its any consolation my friends (who weren't too far away at all from spangle) who were in the same amount of trouble did not get a custodial sentence in the end. TVP tend to be a bit more lenient as well if you have a job and aren't involved in much other crime.

Last time they nicked me (for helping my mates get power on in a squat) they just said "aren't you getting a bit old for this now?", and eventually released me without charge!

Unfortunately this time I don't think that's gonna be the case - with CCTV footage/DNA and mobile phone analysis they have strong evidence I believe, my best bet is holding my hands up and showing em that I'm doing something about it n sortin myself out. Long as I dont go jail or have a fuckin tag I'l be ok!

dont hold your hands up mate. you can change your plea at the last minute and get the time off.. its worth waiting and seeing how strong a case they have before you own up. when i got done it looked like i was going down for sure... didnt tho.

Dont plead guilty till you are absolutely certain they can prove it - if you plead guilty you are throwing away any leverage you have. If your lawyer tells you to plead get different legal advice; ask the repeat offenders which lawyer they are using and get their point of view.

Glad it worked out alright. Hope they are nice to you.. If you have a job and show them your an active member of society, and not a danger to if your unlikely to get a custodial sentence, in most cases (don't know your circumstances) but yeah, just keep your head down. Good luck man.

sounds like my thing last year, i did 3 months b4 sentencing so got out with comunity service, 12 months probation, 12 months suspended for 2 years.

just prey the judge is in a good mood when you get to crown, goin guilty usualy has a swing on it. they seem to be tagging everyoe at the min....

Yeh the probation officer who's gotta do an assessment and advise the court really seemed to like the idea of a tag, if I have a job by then working night shifts or evenings in a bar they may not do that though

Wasn't too bad in the end, I managed to provide a few good points in my defence, starting university being the main one was a BIG help! Ended up with 100 hours community service, a fine and an un-specified suspended sentence. Could have been plenty worse!

But the old bill have STILL not given me any of my stuff they confiscated (phone, wallet etc), am thinking about making a complaint as they said I would get it back within a week and every time I've tried they've fucked me around

If u mean work related to my offence, then no! I was painting church fences/cutting the grass, now I've moved I am still waiting to be transferred to the local probabtion service and they're taking their time which suits me!
