Yep going this year, proper can't wait, it'll be my first time but going with loadsa mates n some rigs that go most years so at least we'l be with people who know what they'r doing!

they seem to "allow" one big teknival but bust all other large ones hard. In recent times though they have been allowing smaller ones <500 people if the council agrees (it is like our TENS laws but with less bureaucracy). But not all councils allow the raves in their areas.

Foreign cops do make ours look like fluffy kittens though.

They have guns all the time and are also geared up and trained to even expect people to shoot back (as on occasions ravers have also brought various firearms to teknivals). Many cops are gendarmes who are really soldiers rather than civillian police, and are often badly trained youths our age on national service (so of course they will have more nationalism and be against "hippies").

Usually the info about the "permitted" teknival is released now and I haven't seen it yet ,despite checking all the usual places (if I find the info in French usually me or Raj translates it..)

if the "permitted" tek happens it is usually fairly safe but the cops will enforce the closedown time quite hard (i.e you move off when they say the party is finished otherwise they will use robot vehicles to discharge CS gas canisters at the field).

There is plenty of warning though, what has happened in the past is that the cops brandish and show off all this scary kit but don't actually do anything particularly bad if people comply with what they say. Loads of my mates have gone and brought rigs and they haven't got in any shit (other than being set upon by some French gangsters from a dodgy crew) provided they weren't taking the piss or blatant with drugs.

Bear in mind though there is the new Sarko bloke in charge and he is supposed to be a bit more on top so its unsure how much the teknival will be tolerated.

Any French on here are welcome to add any info they have (it is strange how little is released this year?)

Got back form the north one near Deux this morning, what a phat party!! We had no trouble with police, they were searching everyone when we got there on the way in (everyone got through fine though..)

They stopped doing this as more n more people started arriving and hardly saw any more until monday morning when they asked everyone to leave

Weather was lovely, soo many big nice rigs for as far as you could see, thousands of people and didn't see any sketchy-ness at all - spot on!

What are the borders like?

Harsh for the english, the gendarme have known where a large part of the drug supply for teknivals has come from for a long time. Expect to get pulled a couple of time on the way there and countless time on the way back. also avoid calais if you don't want your car torn to pieces.

How long do they usually last?

depends if your with a soundsystem or not. generally wednesday to tuesday ish, or until the several thousand national guard tell you to go home.

And a few other things...

roughly the same give or take a few quid. K is sold almost exclusively by the english (something which we've gained a reputation for in europe sadly, thanks to the actions of a few un-named soundsystems)

And the other important thing which may seem obvious, but alot of people don't coz they assume they dont need it in france - TAKE SOME SHADE.:wink:

What are the borders like? - i don't know for other people, but we had a van and didn't exactly look 'respectable' and had no problems at all with customs, only a small search on entry to the site, just be clever about it..

How long do they usually last? wed to tuesday ish

Oh and drug prices would be Interesting to know. - most seemed cheaper than here, coke was a bit more expensive but fucking good, plenty of nice cheap hash etc. K goes for anything up to 80 euros hence all the britts selling it, but as bad as that is a small amount can pretty much fund the trip..

the last one was in the north kinda east/south east of Paris... Pretty good location for those coming from calais.
