Its not for me its for a friend (it really is for a friend)
They went to this club about 2 weeks ago, which has a working swimming pool next door. Basically at some point in the night someone opened up the doors to the pool and quite a few people went for swim. My mate (i say mate, but..) got a call from the cops a week later and they had found his wallet at the bottom of the pool (idiot). Apparently after he got thrown out of the pool it then got trashed and something got stolen although they wont tell him what?! They asked him all the usual questions, any way long story short he then dropped this girl who i am mates with in it by saying her name. He is now getting charged with burglary for whatever it is that got stolen! And she has got to go and speak to Hawaii 5-O on friday after work. He said she will prob get a caution, but surely she can just no comment it and let them try to prove she's done anything. which i shouldnt think they'll be able to as theres no cameras. Either no comment or just say the door was open, she was drunk wondered in went for a swim and then got thrown out by the bouncers from the club and thats all she knows.
Anyway let us know if you've got any advice. apart from get a solicitor that is!

Yeh this is one time it would be worth fighting it as it's not a good thing to have on record even as a caution. I think the fact that they are offering her a caution is evidence that they haven't got a real case against her. I'd go in with a solicitor and find out what evidence they have and work from there.

i would just personaly say that the door was open and i wondered in thinking it was fine .... as if they say they didn't do it and theob do manage to prove they were in there then they will get done for perverting the course of justice or some shit as well ... but if you can go in with a soliciter and find out what eveidence they have got ..then do that and tell them that it wasn't them:bounce_fl

yeah she's gonna walk in there with a solicitor so she should be okay.
Think the guy that grassed her up tho is gonna get charged for burglary. He came in after being down the station and was going its okay they were really nice. She pointed out they wernt being really nice cause they had just charged him with burgary! Fucking idiot i cant believe some people can be so naive!

cops are liars. theyll tell you to confess and it will all be alright when they havent got shit on you and you could have walked. get a solicitor and tell them nothing.

looks like eveything is gonna be alright for my mate, (fingers crossed, touch wod etc)) not the guy, but thats his own fault for blabbing so much.
she just went in and said no comment to everything. She said it was quite funny cause by the end the cops were getting well pissed off, they asked her if there were any questions they could ask that she wouldnt say no comment to.? her answer 'no comment' ha ha ha. Fucking pricks.

Quality, my mate (the girl) just got a call from the rozzers saying that no further action was gonna be taken. good stuff. They cant have had anything on her as they havent even kept her on for her full 2weeks bail period! Just goes to show, if in doubt SAY NOTHING!

Turns out that guy got a call as well and no further actions being taken with him either. turns out the cops are so shit they cant even stitch you up even if you do openly admit it. oh well all's well that ends well (whatever that means).

they also assess whether the owner wants to press charges and the impact on everyone (including those arrested)
I've been arrested and let off stuff before because the cops knew i had a decent job and wasn't selling drugs or doing other crime - its a lot of paperwork to prosecute someone and would have no real postive outcome - the pool owner probably wouldn't get compensation, the cops spend time and money and the person gets a criminal record
and if someone who is working gets chucked out because their name is seen in the papers for a minor offence it might be the thing what pushes them over the edge and makes them do more crime..

so its probably most likely that they just couldnt be arsed then. The pool owner must be well pissed off with the police at the moment, i know i would be if i was him.
