hi, haven't been raving for a while, used to go a bit down south and to a couple of warehouse parties in london. now i live in scotland and can't seem to find anyone who knows much about the rave scene (if there is one - i hear it's pretty quiet up here) in this neck of the woods. does anybody know of parties happening up here often? now the sun's shining once again i'd like to get out and about...

cheers

welcome to partyvibe mate.. you may want to read this thread...

http://www.partyvibe.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=207805#post207805

"Because things are the way they are, with the police, the government, the news and the

public in general,it can be very hard for a new person to find parties..

Ravers can be a bit suspicious about new people, and this is why..

-- Lot of ravers have friends who have been arrested,or have been arrested them self..

-- Lot of Dj's have had their equipment confiscated by police..

-- They don't know you and don't know what your real intentions are..

-- They all try to protect each other, and that mean they don't speak..

-- Lot of people can get in trouble when people talk to much..

How to find parties..

-- Go to legal parties in the area where you live..

-- Get to know people, and let them know you..

-- DON'T ask to many questions..

-- Let people tell you where to go (they will if they think they can trust you)

-- Be patient...

farplay and well said djprocess and thanks for the welcome angel. i suppose it was a bit naivethinking i'd get info straight away and to be fair when i've been raving before it's been with mates who've got the right numbers etc. i'll take your advice and start asking around a legal nights, thanks for the advice.

Woulda been 96 - that was the last year it was held (it would have been totally legal if they hadn't tried to shut it down that year - due to an obscure Scottish by-law that says a festi thats been held at the same place for 10 years running gives it some sort of traditional status - basically the same thing that makes Midge death legal :weee:)
