I was in a relationship for 4 1/2 years with an Italian guy. we lived together, and were talking commitment etc.... I found out about his cyber "adventures" because the ass sent an email from work to our BT email address which is his name but we both used... instead of his personal hotmail address (again his name) so he clicked the wrong one.

He had been online chatting and even stopping at internet cafes for 6 MONTHS so that i wouldn't find out.... the email he forwarded to home was PORNOGRAPHIC in the sickest sense... and on that email i saw what originally was a "secret address" that I had no idea about... So I fired off an email to the chick... got her phone number and called her.. she was in australia... turns out they had been cyber chatting every day for 6 months.. internet sex etc... she had no idea about me and was really into the guy i was with...

the bastard even tried to deny it flat out with the proof in his face.

i called human resources where he worked and said he was using work computers for sending pornographic emails. I even read one to the HR boss. Unfortunately because I had already confronted him before I did this he got rid of everything and the systems at his work regularly clear because of the volume of data...

Fuck him man... he destroyed my trust. He lied blatantly. He was an arrogant prick who after I kicked him out kept begging me how much he loved me and that it wasn't physical so it wasn't that bad.

For me... 6 months is a emotional attachment. he was being deceitful in everyday life, looking forward to receiving her emails... stopping off at cafes for chat... Christ he even rang her a few times.

I know she was not the only one.

This completely ripped my heart out. i had given him everything of me that I could. I would have done anything for him, no favor too big or small.

His excuse? He had a dark side and needed to do it as it gave him a buzz.
It hurts me to this day the shit he put me through....

So YES it is cheating. When it hurts the other person how can it not be?

God I feel a bit wiped after writing that....felt good to unload a wee bit...
Would like to add though that my wonderful swedish man is kind and considerate, he also knows that if he ever lies to me I will gun staple his balls to the wall.

yeah sorry to hear that spark esp after the advice you were giving me. Everything happens for a reason tho, clouds with silver linings etc and it seems you've now got a good relationship as a result. it still doesnt mean that it doesnt hurt at the time tho.

yeah i hope stuff works out what ever happens between me and my g/f as we have been through loads of shit together and i can talk to her about anything as she has seen me when i was at the lowest of low and had loads of horrible shit going on in my life an she was there for me. vice versa 2. she gets back on monday. so we'll see what happens. i think this break has been good as it has helped me get a better perspective on things. if we do get back together we both need to sort our shit out as what we had was really good, but the last year hasnt been worth the hassle IMO. Im trying to work out whether we are staying together because we feel obligated to becasue of all the dark times we've been through together. i dont know.
