so the ring my misses wants me to buy her is about 2000 us dollars and i feel that when i asked her to be with me for ever that i was going to surprise her with a ring that i picked out that made me think of her so it would be from the heart and not a thing of greed or anything along that.am i wrong on these feelings?

Yeah you are mate. But at the end of the day you still love her, and the ring buying would have just been a nice momentem for showing the love, but you dont actually need those momentums to have a good relationship, or show love.
Im saying the act of you buying a suprise ring is the momentum, btw, not not buying a ring full stop. I think she would be pissed off without one lol.
A better example maybe.. People dream of fairy tale weddings ect, and nice lives with their partners. It doesnt happen anything like that though, but the feelings are all still the same. You just vision the feelings in these traditionally "romantic" things. It doesnt mean you have to live them like that to have a full relationship or full feeling.

To be honest..
If she loves you, the prize on the ring shouldn't matter :you_crazy

i agree with you angel but i want her to have every thing she wants she stuck with me during rehab and while i was not working and during my recovery from a quad crash where i broke my leg, hip and compressed my spine (i was in a cast from mid-waist to below my knees) we have dated off and on for the last 12 years and i want her to see the appreciation i have for her so i want to get her the ring but i also wanted to pick one out for her that i see fitting the price dont matter i feel i got no choice

If you were the man I loved..
My dream would be that you never forget to tell me that you love me,show me you love me with the things you do..
Can be cooking a special meal, finding a babysitter and taking me out just the 2 of us,always be there if I need you,the small things in life.
I would like to be appreciated that way instead, that's important to me..
But I'm older than you ,so my values in life are different

dont think i dont do little stuff like you wrote cause i do expecailly when she has a rough day at work i have voiced my opinion to her and maybe getting her what she would like and want would be a big and open sign of appreciation? or maybe im confused because im stuck thinking inside the box of my life?

She's a very lucky lady
And if you feel that buying her that ring really show her how much you love her, you should do it :group_hug

:group_hug your very lucky
We have rings but never wear them - to us the rings are not important and we keep them in a drawer for special occasions. Different strokes for different folks
They are a matching pair of rings engraved in elvish [from Tolkien] with 'One love to bind them all' and they are in silver as we think gold is tacky. It took a while to find a pair of rings we liked :crazy_fre

hmmmm i dont see why she would want a ring worth so much, if she loves you it shouldnt matter like angel said.

the funny thing is she saw it and after a few trips to the store and after she told me she really wanted that one she tried it on and saw the price so its not like she went and picked the highest priced one it just happened that way ya know

im a very free spirited and have a floaty soul then add in luck when it comes to having money that the price is not what has been bothering me its that i wanted to pick out it by myself so i could look and look till i found one that i found to be the ring for her and one that i spent alot of time finding so it would have a little more meaning than just the legal rights to be able to say with love and pride this is my wife
