I think Bush shouldn't be starting things he can not finish and all this should be left up to the incoming new President to ponder over.
But to answer your question, Bush Jr does what Bush Sr wants.
Despite being told by impartial parties that they could not find any MOD's in Iraq, it didn't sway him in the slightest. I don't think evidence pointing to Iran's interest in uranium being for alternative power and not for weapons is enough to convince him.
