My thoughts on relationships...

MY REPLY TO ANOTHER POST ON CHOOSING RELATIONSHIPS/SEX OR PARTIES... JUST WANTED TO SEE WHAT PEOPLE THOUGHT OF THIS:

I like sex, don't get me wrong, but I think it is way overrated and a total western civilization obsession.

I hate the whole idea of relationships now... all they are are close friendships with added sex and added shit (possesiveness, jealousy, control, seriousness, etc)... I'd rather just have loads of ultra close friendships and have fun - if attraction occurs in any, sex will happen... as sex should be fun, and not so serious as lots of people make out... but I no longer believe in committing to one person.

If the occasion occured where I DID get involved in a relationship, I would make sure I got with someone on a similar thinking level as me. There's no way ANYONE would tell me when I can and when I can't party, as life is supposed to be fun.. and if a relationship drains the fun (as many do), then what's the point??

I'd choose partying every time.

Good relationships take a lot of work and you have to be able to compromise on things inside the relationship while not compromising who you are.....

Possessiveness, controlling behaviour, jealousy and other negative behaviours are, to me, an expression of lack of trust and self worth on the part of the person exhibiting them...They are not attractive to me and I cant see why others put up with them in a long term relationship - you either trust your partner implicitly or you are in the wrong relationship and should get out....

I dont get people who get involved with others and expect to be able to change them :you_crazy The person they were was what was attractive to them in the first place and as soon as they are involved the pressure to change the other begins :crazy_diz and normally ruins the relationship :crazy: [And how spectacularly arrogant is it to think you have the right to make someone change anyway?:you_crazy the only person you have the right to insist must change is yourself.:rant:]
