Have you ever given up something intrinsically important to you for someone else or had the reverse happen?
e.g. emigrated to another country because one half really wants to but the other doesn't? (just an example)
Will you regret not trying this if you dont do it?

i had to give up my love for rap music, to make new friends many moons ago, and altho at the time i was kicking myself for doing it and changing, i think it was the right thing to do as they are my best friends and they dont care what kinda music i like. bit different to ur example, but it was very hard to do

You changed ur music interests to suit friends? or did you mean something else?

is that a joke?!

i dont think i could do it, i could imagine myself really regretting giving up something that was unbelievably important to me... but then again i've never been in love so i can imagine when you gain something so much more magical in your life for it then it's most likely worth it.
if im on the right wavelength here...

We did it once already, all moved to Spain together, came back after a coupla years because one of the boys was very ill.
They're moving back this autumn, I've decided I can't go, on my own path a bit you know?
A friend of mine is moving to Canada because her other half wants to, she'll go 'anywhere to be with him', its one of the sweetest things I've ever heard but I don't feel like that, i'm torn.
I love em both, we got together in 2000, its not the sort of set up that grows on trees, I cannot imagine what it'll be like when they go
Also i have family responsibilities (my mum) an I can't just leave her.
Just can't figure out if sacrifice is true love or lack of self if that makes any sense hmmmmmm . . .
Only you can make this decision for yourself. We can all waffle about it but only you know what is right for you. :group_hug
I know that allowing the third person to leave was one of the hardest things I ever had to do. I still wonder if I did the right thing for me. It was definetely the right thing for them which is why I did it and would do it again.
